We had booked a double room for the Whitsun weekend to experience the asparagus festivities in Grubbenvorst. These were to be the first post-corona parties, but unfortunately the organizers failed to organize them as before. Anyway, there is plenty to see and do in the area. In Grubbenvorst there are only two hotels and since the other one was full, we had booked in the Lindehoeve. You should not choose this hotel for the environment: it is located a long way outside the center of Grubbenvorst and completely between agricultural companies (with mega greenhouses), transhipment companies and the like. The hotel resembles a restored old farm, but a large part of the hotel is probably of more recent date. Outside there is a spacious terrace, both between the two main buildings and at the rear. Tiles made of old natural stone, usually limestone, were chosen everywhere for the floor. This gives the hotel an extra cachet as a farmstead, which fits in well with the whole. What we did notice is that, despite the floor, it is very neat everywhere. The hotel is frequently used (especially on weekends) by workers who work in the neighboring (agricultural) companies. That is why the hotel contains a number of rooms without private bathroom with some bathrooms in the hallway. On the landing there is a sitting area with a refrigerator, kettle and microwave. We had been given the family room with four single beds (of which we only used two of course). We had a Smart TV in the room but without any connection. That in itself did not bother us, because we had a tablet with us and there is free WiFi. The room also contains a fridge, microwave, kettle and sink. The bathroom is fully tiled with white wall tiles and contains a toilet, sink and shower with shower curtain. As it is a family room, there were certainly plenty of towels. I missed a floor towel for the shower curtain, because that doesn't stop all the splashes. I also missed a step / tabouret in the bathroom. Always handy to dry the feet neatly after showering. The have used the toilet, but that was completely on the other side of the (long) bathroom. During our stay there was a breakdown in the hot water boiler after the first morning. Cold showers were the result. The next day we were offered to shower or even spend the night in another building of the hotel, but since we were only going to stay one night, we did not do this. The breakfast is good, although not very extensive. We were asked for a piece of cake and we took it with pleasure. Dinner is served buffet style. There were cold salads (with quite a lot of dressing), but also beautifully cooked asparagus with appropriate sauce. The offer of the main course reminded me of an earlier overnight stay in a youth hostel. It's there, it's actually quite tasty, but it looks like
