Magpies Restaurant with Rooms

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Beds were comfortable and clean as was the room. Beautifully decorated and nice bathroom. Food was absolutely delicious and would certainly want to come back and have more of the food. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and would certainly back again for both a meal and for someone to stay!

Booked the gold room package. Beautiful spacious room and luxurious bathroom. Bed was huge and the most comfortable I’ve slept in away from home. Everything you would expect in a hotel was provided. The evening meal was exceptional and staff very attentive and friendly providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There is some noise from the road but the website does say the room faces the road. It certainly didn’t affect a good nights sleep and a lay in till 8 o’clock! Breakfast was just as enjoyable as the evening meal. We will definitely be back in the new year.

We didn’t get to enjoy the full experience but will 100% be returning, We stayed in the double king room that overlooked the main road, the room was stunning, cannot fault it. We had to cut our stay short so missed breakfast unfortunately but we will be back 100% In ref to one of the other reviews mentioning a knock at the door early hours into the morning, we was in the room and heard a obvious knock at the door too at around 4-5am ish and as we was up anyway we answered the door pretty quick to find nobody there and not a single person milling about???? I won’t throw out the G word but it seems odd to have 2 reviews mentioning a random knock on the door late on into the night?? It certainly hasn’t deterred us and we will be back for another stay in horncastle in the future and we will book again. The owner on reception was helpful and friendly too.

I came up for a friend’s evening reception. It was meant to be my boyfriend and I, but he wasn’t able to come in the end. The staff were lovely and made me feel really comfortable. The room was amazing! It was massive, really clean and had everything you needed. It felt a bit silly at first, staying in such a nice room on my own, but I enjoyed it in the end. I was a bit worried about coming back at night as the reception Isn’t manned 24/7. I got back at midnight and it was fine: really easy to park, let myself in etc. and felt really safe. The breakfast was delicious - I loved how you could choose exactly what you wanted on your full English so I wasn’t embarrassed to leave loads of bits on my plate! Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Went for a birthday dinner as a family. Food was lovely, very well presented and staff helpful and friendly! We had a few dietary requirements which they were able to helpfully give guidance with despite last minute notice. Great meal!
