I wanted a few days near the sea and The Hope & Anchor does not disappoint being a few feet from the beach. My room was spacious, yet cosy. I could hear the sea but not other guests or customers in the bar and restaurant. The food was very good in terms of variety, quality and reasonably priced.

We stayed in the suite. Very clean and comfy with a huge bed. We took our Goldador dog who was also well loved. Great breakfasts and evening meals with friendly staff and a brilliant location for walks and visits to other locations nearby like Burgh Island

Great location, by the beach and on the SW Coastal Path. Super large family room, with bunk bed room and well equipped kitchenette. Huge very comfortable bed. Had a great meal outside on the decking and watched sunset. Perfect, just sad we were only there for one night.

Great location and room was fabulous. Right on the southwest coastal path too. Bar area good and food/breakfast v good too Staff are extremely friendly, we had 2 dogs with us and they had a doggie treat bag too. In the immediate vicinity is a small shop, as well as another eatery next door, which has 2 sections, one pizza and a bar, plus another restaurant too.

What a fabulous place! The location was stunning overlooking the cove, we were met with a warm & friendly welcome, our room was comfortable with great views. Food was excellent and staff were lovely. We were treated to the most spectacular sunsets on our visit. Would recommend a stay here.

We went for our anniversary and had a good evening meal and breakfast . Will be going back again . All the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable , clean and spacious. coffee Machine, fridge . Bathroom had neat idea of having a sensor night light .

We much enjoyed our two night stay in this old and lovely pub. The room with ensuite shower (no bath) was comfortable. We were there Wednesday leading up to Easter weekend and the pub was crammed with people many of them partaking in the weekly quiz night. The staff are this pub's greatest strength. They were working extremely hard, and even running to take and deliver food orders, but maintained a professional and friendly service. A welcome balconied area was a bonus to enjoy a drink in the evening sun.

A lovely pub/hotel in a lovely village! The room was great, comfortable and spacious. The meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. All the staff we met were so friendly with a ready smile. Hope itself is a brilliant find which we would certainly return to - just don’t tell too many people about it as it is very special.
