In its iconic location up above the sea The Cottage is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of Devon. Hope Cove is a family friendly place with two lovely beaches and others nearby. Sarah and William and the team at the Cottagewere very welcoming and our room (one of the newly decorated in the new part of the hotel was stunning). Most rooms have balconies and are real sun traps. The terrace overlooking the sea is one of our favourite places for a drink and lunch is excellent value. The Cottage is a very special, family run place with the charm of a bygone era. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

I was treated to a long weekend with my wife and dogs down at the Cottage Hotel in Hope Cove. We had a first floor room with a balcony and views over both bays. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, bath/shower en-suite and a balcony with chairs and a small table. The room was very comfortable and I only wish we'd have had more time to enjoy the views and sunsets. We had booked for evening meals and breakfasts in the hotel and we were so pleased. The quality of the food was exceptional and I can highly recommend the 5 course dinners. The bar was excellent too with prices the same or cheaper than the local pubs. An absolute bonus to find a hotel that would allow guests to leave dogs in their bedroom while the owners had dinner/breakfast. The staff were so friendly and professional, I was actually a little sorry to leave. I can't believe this is only a 3 star hotel.

From the moment we walked through the doors of this unique time capsule we knew that we would be in for a regal experience. Much akin to the grand Budapest, the concierge could not do enough to see we were made to feel like guests of honour in Hope Cove’s premier establishment. The complimentary nuts on the bar were a delightful touch after we were served a well deserved pint after a long walk back from the other pub where we had consumed several other pints. We decided to stop for dinner in the hotel that we were staying in and the excellent value set menu option did not not disappoint as much as we thought they might. The waiters in tux’s were by far a hilight and went above and beyond to make sure our group were made to feel special; a bond was formed. Our food and drink left little to be desired as was very very good. My phone however is bigger than the TV in the rooms but thankfully due to the quality of the wine we passed our fairly sharpish after a lovely long evening of eating and drinking. God bless the Cottage.

Beautiful hotel, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Such a wonderful welcome for me, my partner and our puppy . Beautiful view from the bedroom, everything we need was provided. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal, 5 courses was real value, topped off with a beautiful buffet breakfast. Will we be back thank you Neil.

Another amazing stay at The Cottage Hotel. We have been coming here regularly for 24 years and why because it’s an absolute gem! It’s just easy with great service and amazing views. We enjoy coming back after a day out to a nice evening meal. Also the best cream tea. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well. See you again in a couple of weeks. Loved the large bedroom with the balcony and recliners. Spotlessly clean. Loved the variety of accessories such as the fruit and toiletries. The evening meal was delicious and the breakfast varied and hot. The service was excellent. The hotel is perfectly located with superb views over the Cove and beyond. My wife and I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions and we look forward to doing so again in the future.

The service at this hotel is outstanding and all of the staff are lovely. The location could not be better, right on the sea front next to a very pretty beach. The views are spectacular from the balconies. A bit old fashioned but this adds to the charm of the hotel. It is very relaxing and welcoming. I stayed in one of the single back rooms which was a little tired with peeling wallpaper, and had no AC so was very hot to sleep in. It was amazing value for money though, very clean and had everything else I could ask for. Nice bathroom with toiletries, soft towels, a working tv, kettle and tea, coffee and biscuits. I was on an art course so didn't spend much time in the room, just enjoyed the lovely hotel and setting. The catering was great. Lovely breakfast and five course evening meal included in the price. I would definitely recomend this hotel and would love to stay again.

We stayed at the Cottage hotel 45 years ago and as we were staying in Salcombe decided to book dinner there. The hotel has expanded but the old traditionally values remain. The staff were excellent and the food was traditionally English well cooked with "honest" flavours. We had a delightful meal served in the good old fashioned way, excellent
