My family and I had a cream tea there on mothering Sunday. Although now 20 years ago, I did spend 30 years working in restaurants. Sadly , more often than not, I am disappointed with the general standard in hotels these days. I must say, on this occasion, I was very impressed. The place had a very traditional feel about it. I suppose that ticks a lot of boxes for an old boy like me. But all of my family felt the same. We were looked after by a variety of people, all of whom were very attentive. At one stage my daughter noticed that we were one scone short. She casually mentioned it to me. To our surprise, the waiter overheard it and brought us 2. To cut a long story short, I will certainly go there again.
