We arrived to the Inn shortly after 9 pm after 2-3 hours of driving. Finding the parking lot to park was difficult but we managed. It was nice to just be able to code into the main door to enter as well as into our room. There were a lot of things that are not fixable just due to the age of the building (like creaky floors). We stayed in the "Secret Room" on the first floor and could hear guests walking around on the second floor which was distracting. We were only there to sleep for the night and were up and out pretty early the next morning so I can't speak to the breakfast availability of the Inn but wanted to highlight a couple of pros and cons of our night: Cons: The string lights that were hung up on the wrap around porch of the Inn (picture included), although beautiful, were incredibly bright and steamed into our room. One of the photos I attached was taken at 10:30 pm. The blackout curtains did a great job of filtering out most of the light, but as you can see, with the lights on it looks like it's daylight outside. Which made it incredibly difficult to fall asleep. There was no hand soap provided in the bathroom. Pros: The bed was incredibly comfortable. Which helped be able to stay asleep (once we were able to fall asleep). Just for note: The room provided a couple of robes, ironing board, and heater in the closet.

House has lots of character, Victoria and the chef were great. Bathroom VERY dirty. I don't think the back patio has been cleaned for weeks.Signage could be updated to look professional (Not a marker) For the price I would stay somewhere else. We had to ask for shampoo and hand soap. No coffee in tin. The breakfast was amazing!

yes, its quaint - but that should mean the door closes ajar, not that I have to figure out how to heat up the room because it really is 60 degrees in here, wear a coat. And if i plug in both space heaters and run the microwave ALL the lights go out and nothing works. The trash in the house eating area has not been dumped since before we got here, so (+/-) a week now. Minimal kitchen items in the kitchen, the "staff" is occasionally available. The room is coolish, the bathroom is cold, put towels down on the floor to protect your feet! I rented this room because its highly rated, but they are running on historical reviews - not current. My husband said "this place is obviously cared for by a complacent (low standards) man". How cloudy should the hot tub be?? eek. I paid for a premium room, I got passable.

A really quaint and lovely place to stay. Within an easy hour drive from Portland airport and in the great town of Hood River. We stayed in the Secret Room and had a fantastic time. The room was super comfy and spacious and had lots of nice little touches to make it feel homely. There was a great choice of cooked to order breakfasts, including frittata and savoury crepes after homemade granola and parfait. The staff were really friendly and attentive. There is a veranda to sit out on in the evening and even a hot tub. Hood River is a really nice place to explore the Columbia River Gorge, with lots of things to do in the area like cycling the fruit loop, exploring waterfalls, and sampling the breweries.

Just a wonderful experience. The owner and staff are exceptional and personable. Literally would give the shirt off their back. Incredible breakfast each morning. Staff were quick to help us with any questions or things we needed. Loved the morning chats with Michael.

This place is an absolute gem. My first time staying there and I will definitely return. My room was perfect, lots of space, very comfortable bed, very clean. I wish I had had time to take a bath in the large bathtub and take a dip in the hot tub. Next visit! The staff is so friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Can’t recommend the Inn enough.

This B&B is a friendly , fun place to stay . It’s by no means fancy . It’s an 100 year old house decorated with eclectic furniture. It didn’t bother us because we found it fun . Everything in our room was in working order and very clean. Our suite was large and super comfortable. We had a living area with a kitchenette and a TV separate from the bedroom area . I do agree with other reviewers that the rugs need a good cleaning . Each morning we had a great breakfast and coffee. We spent lots of time on the porch reading and chatting with the other guests .

Our stay at the Inn at the Gorge in the Cascade Suite was a major letdown. As avid visitors to Hood River, we were excited to try out this inn, but it failed to meet even basic expectations. Pros: The check-in process was straightforward with no need for interaction, and parking was conveniently located next to the inn. While the lobby boasted pastries, the lack of advertised kombucha on tap was disappointing. We appreciated the quietness of the place during our stay, likely due to fewer guests in the winter months. Cons: The main reason we chose this inn was for the hot tub, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. We specifically chose this place for its advertised hot tub, eagerly anticipating a relaxing soak after a day exploring the gorge. However, what we found upon opening the lid was far from idyllic. The hot tub emitted a strong odor of mildew, and the water was a repulsive shade of yellow, indicating a severe lack of cleanliness and maintenance. It was evident that the tub hadn't been properly cleaned or drained for some time. This was a major letdown considering it was the primary reason for selecting this inn. Despite being aware that it was winter, it's unacceptable to advertise an amenity that is clearly neglected and unusable. Just because there may be fewer guests during this season doesn't justify neglecting maintenance. Guests have every right to expect the amenities promised on the website to be in a usable state regardless of the time of year. We received a text from the owner on our last day informing us that check out was at 11:00am and asked us to leave the door ajar when ready to check out. On the morning of our departure, after prepacking our car and heading off to an early breakfast, we closed the door completely indicating we were NOT ready to check out. Despite following instructions we returned at 10:25am to find a staff member cleaning our room, well before the designated checkout time of 11:00 am. When questioned, the staff member seemed confused and cited that he thought we had left since our belongings were gone, yet he shouldn't have entered a room with a closed door as per the inn's own instructions. This isn't an isolated incident; a previous reviewer (Cary G, one year ago on Jan 2023 titled "BUYER BEWARE") encountered a similar issue with cleaning staff entering their room prior to the designated check out time, indicating a systemic problem with communication and management. The owner's response to previous negative reviews, including the one from Cary G in January 2023, is indicative of a serious problem with communication and accountability. Despite claiming to take matters seriously, it's evident that little action has been taken to address ongoing issues. The lack of integrity displayed and failure to rectify persistent problems, is deeply concerning. It's unacceptable for an owner to be unable to effectively communicate with their own staff and to repeatedly fail to address long-standing issu
