Horsefeathers Hotel

My friend and I arrived to the most welcoming, cozy atmosphere enhanced by the gas fireplace inside and the fire pit on the extensive deck where we spent a lovely evening overlooking the town of Hood River and the Columbia River beyond. Chris, the owner was always available and had great recommendations for places to eat and visit. We will be coming back!

Beautiful boutique hotel right in downtown. I've stayed there several times for work in the different rooms and furnishings are super and suites are easy to access. Each suite has been warm and inviting and fully stocked with kitchenware. Great location being one block away from restaurants and shopping on Oak Street. Owners are very accommodating for my needs. The available WiFi is 1G and very reliable which is critical for me to use for work. Adjacent community park and historic stairway connecting the community are unique features and add to the ambience of the location.

Our stay was amazing! Top notch interior! Great location! Can’t wait to go again! Woke up to the best view as well. Highly recommend staying here. Host has amazing customer service and is there right when needed. Exited to come stay during the summer!

I am specifically reviewing room 202 in this very well appointed "hotel", which is really more like a building containing several apartments (no reception office or anything like that). Our room was very well appointed and everything in it appeared to be "new". The King bed was especially comfortable. That being said, it was nowhere near worth the nearly $440 we paid for a single night there ($80-90 of which was tacked on fees). Room 202 is tucked into the back of the building and basically a daylight basement room. There is a galley-like kitchen, with a tall dining table and 4 stools. The bedroom has no door and the kitchen wall between it and the bedroom is open at the top so sound travels throughout the space, so even the slightest noise from even the bathroom (if ya know what I mean) is clearly heard throughout the small apartment. We were also disappointed to find that the TV was not functioning properly - it had a message on it saying it required an update and the only way to do the update was with the TV remote which was nowhere to be found (only the Roku remote was provided). This was very frustrating after a long day of travel and wanting to relax watching a movie...we ended up using our laptop. Like I said, this is a very nice building/apartment and the location is excellent, but after staying in 3 other places prior to this on a road trip through SE WA and NE OR, all of which were nearly half the price Horsefeathers and we enjoyed them more, it was a real disappointment.

We’ve been to Hood River several times and Horsefeathers by far has been the nicest place we’ve stayed. The Lookout (201) was comfortable, clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed and more. The location is perfect with everything in walking distance. We spent several evenings sitting on the deck enjoying the beautiful views. It felt like a home away from home. From booking, check-in, to check-out Chris made the process seamless. He was very responsive and helpful. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Amazing place! I was traveling for business and lucked out since they’re usually sold out. The place was super clean, quaint and had amazing views. The nostalgia of being an old brewery was really cool and they did a great job tying in the decor around the place to make it feel modern while not taking away from the traditional building. Coupled with fantastic amenities, it had everything I needed. Chris, the Owner and GM provided amazing hospitality. Always answered his phone and gave local recommendations that knocked my socks off. Great job! Not sure what the other comment was about being able to hear conversations and people above. I travel a lot for business and that happens at every hotel! This place was no louder than any other establishment I’ve been at. Case in point, why I have earplugs in my travel bag - just in case you get some noisy neighbors. The only downside to this place is that I only stayed one night and didn’t have my wife with me. Next time, my wife will be coming along and we’re staying a long weekend. This place is incredible and I highly recommend it!!
