I saw in other reviews that the facilities were outdated, but overall, it felt new and the location is right in front of Waikiki Beach, so it's great for shopping and going to the ocean. I came to Oahu for shopping after being on another island, and the location is good enough to walk to this accommodation. The only regret, like other reviews, was that the soundproofing was really poor.

I stayed at the Royal Hawaiian for a wedding. The staff, rooms, pool, everything is great. The room was also upgraded to a larger room with an ocean view. There was also a bathtub! I really recommend it.

The room facilities are very good, clean and tidy. The room service is warm and considerate, the hotel has a good view, complete supporting facilities, and the hotel lobby staff is warm and thoughtful. The location is very good, close to the commercial street for shopping. I will choose to stay next time.

It was my first visit in 15 years, and as expected, the service, facilities, location, and amenities were all top-notch, making it an irreplaceable experience. Our room had a golf mountain view, and the night sky was beautiful, and in the morning the view of the beautiful mountains, residential areas, and golf course was very calming. The thin pancakes for breakfast were as delicious as ever, and we also visited Arancino, which had opened on the first floor, and everything we ate was delicious. There was a wide selection of souvenirs, and the staff were all very kind. My wife, who was visiting for the first time, was delighted, saying it was the best hotel in Hawaii, and we will definitely visit again.

Consider it a happy little accident. I had missed my flight home because of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade and was stuck an extra day on Oahu. I looked to see what was the cheapest hotel room available and the Ka La’i popped up which surprised me. Booked the room quick because the Honolulu Marathon was the following day and almost every hotel was sold out. I got an ocean view suite with a King bed as my room and loved it. Bathroom was amazing, bed was super comfortable and overall the suite was spacious. Although it had a kitchen it didn’t have a dedicated dining table, even a small one. Only thing in the sitting area was a glass coffee table that was long enough for my needs of just a late night pizza dinner. Staff was helpful and even as I was checking out, I casually asked if I could tour the Penthouse suite because I had always wanted to book it. The 2 front desk workers escorted me to the Penthouse and gave me a little tour. It was impressive. Definitely would stay there again soon.

The facilities, service, and spa are all very satisfying. When we told them about a family celebration, they even gave us a surprise service. The pool and beach have a calming atmosphere and are geared towards adults.
