It was my first stay, however, overall experience was not meeting my expectations for W brand at all. Check-in took a while while the male agent didn’t show any genuine sense of interest during the process. No assistance for luggage provided either although I did mention my mother was waiting at the sofa area with luggage. The room looked old and there was hair from previous guest on the toilet floor. There was built-up of white scale in the bathroom here and there. To my surprise, there was no turn down service provided in the evening but this is a Forbes 5-Star hotel. I stayed on the 23F, there was only the UP button at the lift landing which made me wondering if there was another lift with the DOWN button. Finding none, eventually I pressed the UP button and entered to the lift, and managed to press the 6F button after the door closed to go down. Is this part of the posh W hotel features or am I being old-fashioned? At breakfast, I gave my room number to the waitress before entering to the restaurant. After she took my order for coffee, I was asked for my last name which I spelled it for her. What was the purpose of doing this? In order to confirm my room number? Should this be done at the host desk before I came in? Or to personalise the service? But I wasn’t addressed by name at any opportunities during my entire stay! Again, no Forbes 5-star standard. I saw one foreign gentleman stopped to spell his name to the waitress when he was going to get his food……Weird! Overall, a hotel that I wouldn’t come back again! A hotel with Forbes 5-Star rating but not complying with Forbes 5-star standard! Shame!
