Since 1756, this inn has been in business just outside the center of Holzminden. And the hospitality is still there as of old. We were upgraded to a modern, spacious room with a terrace. Nice and sleek design, good lighting choices and a delicious shower. Good chairs, everything new and clean. Slept wonderfully as well. The room is equipped with everything. You do have to fill the fridge yourself and there is a kettle but otherwise no tea or coffee. And also no information if you can get that somewhere. There is a candy & snack machine and a drinks machine in the hotel. The rooms are in two modern annexes. The reception is in a modern addition built over the stream that flows past the old inn. Then again, the breakfast room and restaurant make sense in the old inn. But even those rooms are quite modern in design. Breakfast itself is extensive with plenty of choice and tasty breads and cheese. Nothing overdone, but certainly lavish (and included in the price). The manager/owner is a tremendously cordial man who has a good eye for everything. The hotel receives many cyclists who do the Weser route. It is a top place for that (even if you come by car). In fact, one of the best and most beautiful places/buildings in Holzminden.

This is a historic German hotel in the nice town of Holzminden. It is a small hotel consisting of two buildings. One is a little more modern then the other. I had a room in the less modern building. There is no elevator, so hauling luggage up the flight of stairs was tiring. My room was very typical by European standards - very small but basically functional. It was very well lit and had nice natural light as well. A closet and shelf for your suitcase assisted in keeping the room tidy. The beds are very hard. It is a wood slab with a foam mattress on top. While I like my bed on the harder side, this was really hard and I woke up with sore muscles. Also there is no thermostat in the room so you cannot control the temperature. It got cold in the room at night (though I like sleeping cold). And there is no air conditioning so I image the room will get very warm in summer. The rooms are older in the building I was in so the wear and tear is showing. Service was outstanding. The proprietor was jovial and friendly and more than happy to help with anything you need. Breakfast was delicious and fresh each morning. One evening our group had an Italian night buffet dinner in the restaurant and it was terrific. Restaurant service is wonderful and friendly. Holzminden is a lovely town and I very much enjoyed my visit.

Wir waren im Rahmen einer Radtour hier und hatten ein DZ Komfort mit Balkon im Nebengebäude für 136 €. Das Hotel liegt außerhalb der Innenstadt, das dazugehörige Restaurant ist permanent geschlossen. Bei der Ankunft wunderten wir uns über das Durcheinander im Rezeptionsbereich und es war auch niemand da. Nach einigem Hin und Her fanden wir dann eine junge Frau in der Küche, die uns Zimmerkarten ausstellen. Die Räder konnten wir in einem abschließbaren Fahrradraum unterstellen. Das Zimmer war recht klein, auf dem Balkon 2 Stühle, kein Tisch. Es gibt zwar einen kleinen Kühlschrank, der jedoch leer war. Im Eingangsbereich bei der Rezeption gibt es einen Selbstbedienungskühlschrank. Auf der Preisliste wird darauf hingewiesen, dass pro Glas eine AUFWANDSPAUSCHALE von 1€ erhoben wird - so etwas haben wir noch nirgendwo gesehen! Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, allerdings waren die Zutaten vom Aufbackbrötchen bis zum Orangennektar eher dem sehr preiswerten Segment zuzuordnen. Alles in allem kein gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis!

Ein sehr herzlicher und freundlicher Empfang. Der Hotelbesitzer gab uns sofort Tipps, um ein gutes Restaurant zu finden, da sein Restaurant am Sonntag geschlossen war. Auch nachdem wir mit der Restaurantreservierung nicht viel Erfolg hatten, gab er uns weiter Tipps. Sehr reichhaltiges und gutes Frühstück, es fehlte wirklich an nichts. Die Zimmer im Nebengebäude sind geräumig, mit viel Glas und sehr bequemen Betten. Alle Annehmlichkeiten sind im Zimmer vorhanden. Fahrräder im abgeschlossenen Raum, der für die vielen Fahrräder etwas beengt war. Bei der Abreise schlug er selbst vor, ein Foto von uns zu machen und gab uns auch einen Tipp für einen schöneren Radweg Richtung Weser. Hotel ideal für Radurlaub.

Wir waren sehr beeindruckt vom Engagement und der Servicebereitschaft vor Ort! Für mich eindeutig ein gutes Hotel für einen Stop-Over- und wenn wieder etwas mehr Personal an Bord ist definitiv ein Punkt mehr bei der Bewertung. Es hat alles was es braucht und liegt 10 min Fußweg von der Innenstadt entfernt. Gutes WLAN und für Fahrräder und Motorräder gut Platz zum Parken. Auch gutes WLAN vorhanden.

Von außen fällt als erstes der alte Fachwerkbau auf, unser Zimmer war dann letzten Endes in einem neueren Haus auf dem Gelände. Unser Zimmer war modern ein eingerichtet, leider sehr hellhörig und leider ging die Heizung nicht, sodass es doch sehr kalt war. Im Bad fehlten Haken zum aufhängen der Handtücher, die Dusche lief in den Raum ab, aber wenigstens hier ging die Heizung. Das Frühstück fand im Altbau statt. Wir waren erstaunt über das Durcheinander welches uns hier im Eingangsbereich erwartet hat, das Frühstück selbst war befriedigend und leider nicht mehr. Vielen Dank aber an die super nette Dame im Service. Fazit: Definitiv nicht wieder. Für die Leistung etwas zu teuer.

Wir waren an einem recht kalten Januarwochenende im Hellers Krug. Das Zimmer in der 1.Etage des separaten Gebäudes war frisch renoviert, sehr modernes Bad . Das ganze Zimmer sauber, funktional und groß genug. Herzliche, ruhige Lage - kein Problem mit offenem Fenster zu schlafen. Unser Abendessen im Restaurant war der Hammer. Alleine das alte Gebäude ist schon eine Attraktion… aber die Küche erst. Wir hatten Vorsuppe und Dessert alle 4 gleich, aber unterschiedliche Hauptgänge. Es wurde alles zeitgleich serviert und war absolut top. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und schnell, wenn ein Glas leer war. Der Chef serviert selber mit und ist sehr aktiv um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht. Das Restaurant war komplett ausgebucht, also auf jeden Fall reservieren. Das Frühstück war in einer attraktiven Büffetform angerichtet. Alles frisch, vielfältige und lecker. Frisch gemachtes Rührei und diverse Brötchensorten standen bereit Alles in allem ein top Preis/Leistungsverhältnis .. gerne jederzeit wieder
