We visited The Pigs after a day out in North Norfolk, with a booking for 5pm. We had tried to book a little later but were unsuccessful — not surprising given it was still the school holidays, and there were lots of families around at teatime. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant felt really welcoming. Drinks and food were excellent, and our waitress was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and on form. We both chose pie and steak, and while I hadn’t quite expected a piece of steak with the pie, it turned out to be absolutely delicious. Desserts were also very good. I’d definitely recommend the Marathon, though I was tempted by the signature white chocolate and marmite pot. Maybe next time! A trio of desserts option on the menu would be a nice touch for those of us who want to try more than one. We had added a note to say it was our anniversary, but this wasn’t mentioned at all — not that it was a problem, just something to note. Although the table space was a little limited, we never felt rushed and were able to really enjoy the experience. Overall, a wonderful meal, and we will definitely book again.

Walked in and walked out. One of the team at the bar was hostile and very unwelcoming! I was on my holiday with my family so very disappointed as the place is so lovely

We’ve been before and really enjoyed it but yesterday we just didn’t have a great experience. It took nearly 20 minutes for anyone to take our drinks order, another 15 for them to come and then our fish and chips were so overdone I left most of mine and my mum really didn’t enjoy hers. The restaurant seemed pretty empty for a Saturday evening so I wasn’t sure why it felt so chaotic and the food not great. A real shame as we were really looking forward to it

We stayed in the Wallow. Absolutely first class - a real treat. We booked it such a long time ago but it was all we wanted and more. Loved every minute. We checked in just after 2pm because they allow this for that room, so we had a full afternoon. Sun was shining, sat outside the front of the pub and had several drinks!!!! Then we went and enjoyed all the room facilities. Staff are so kind, helpful and accommodating. Best gift ever. Expensive, but worth it!!!!

After visiting the pigs for meals and staying many times before I can honestly say it is with a very heavy heart that there won't be another time I booked here for my 40th birthday with my work friends on 29th of May. We had to pre order 3 weeks before. We were then told 2 days before the event that the menu has changed and some of us need to pick something else from the new menu. Cutting to the chase... the new pre orfered food arrived stone cold, they had a power cut half way through the meal. The staff were lovely and friendly however I just feel embarrassed and gutted all this happened on my birthday meal. So for that reason it has now put me off returning unfortunately.

My food was cold on arrival at my table. Not wishing to make a fuss, I was with my family. I ate what I could, not much. I have recently become disabled (double amputee) so going out is a rare treat for me. Such a shame. Yes they took the meal off the bill but I would have preferred to be able to eat it. Same on the table next to us. Basic problem. No Yorkshire pudding, anaemic roast potatoes. Pig in blanket inedible the bacon was so salty. My son couldn't eat it either. A real shame as it is one of a few places near to me that has disabled facilities.
