We stayed at The Pigs in Edgefield and absolutely bloody loved it! We stayed in The Wallow, and it was just incredible—complete with a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The best part? You can blast your own music, which made it feel so personal and fun. It was such a brilliant stay, and we didn’t want to leave! As the pub is called The Pigs, the menu is very pig-focused, but there are other options available too. That said, I definitely felt like I was turning into one by the end of our stay—it was all too good to resist! If you’re looking for a unique and relaxing experience, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Having previously visited as a girls weekend for my birthday (original spa), this birthday I dragged along my boyfriend His statement on route was ‘I hope this drive (2hrs) and stupid skinny roads are worth it. I was meant to drive but fell ill with cold the day before and didn’t want to lose my money plus spa and cold are a good thing.. On arrival we checked in, reception staff was lovely, showed us to our sty in the sky room It isn’t a room, it’s a massive two story suite! A lounge area with sofa, tv, table for room service, fridge and tea/coffee facilities and the little pigs biscuits, the spa room, watcha head, sauna and steam along with a massive copper bath and two chairs, also a vanity area with dryer and straighter supplied. Sauna complete with oil and water bucket. Bath with inhouse wash. Was also a toilet area here. States 6ft restriction I’m 5’10 and have a few bumps to my head so take that into consideration Outside space with hot tub, heated before arrival and two chairs. Upstairs was a large bedroom with tv and large bed (I also booked a ‘romantic rose petal extra with banner and Prosecco for two and a spa facial bag) two small bottled waters supplied Then onto the on suite with dressing area with room shampoo, conditioner, wash & body cream Loved the pink shower (double) We ordered drinks and starters to the room, blue toothed music via the many locations in the suite and watched a new series episode. After enjoying more spa and relaxation we ordered more drinks and food to the room. The door has a chime bell which is helpful. Food was great but couldn’t add my Norfolk pass onto the app for payment. Didn’t have that problem last time as added everything to room for departure payment Sleep was great, no faults to that but I wanted to get up early and enjoy the bath which I hadn’t the night before The breakfast we went down for as I remembered the buffet extra was amazing last time, the black pudding sausage rolls breakfast was good, can’t fault, good size, Definitely Goldilocks portion, not too big nor small Check out was simple and payment ready with my Norfolk card details already there a 10% deduction Will return but would like to try the wallows next. Seems like it’s fully booked next year which is a massive shame for us giant people. Only one criticism is, more bottled water. Two small bottles are not enough in a spa surrounding Will not deter as it was over a year for this booking

What an amazing and unique experience. The whole setup is centred around you and the staff could not be more welcoming. We stayed one night in a Spa suite room. The Sauna and steam room were to die for and I think I lost my wife to the luxurious deep bath. The bed was so comfortable and the ambience of the room was perfect. The food was superb, especially the jam roly poly. I will definitely be back for that. On the evening we sat under the stars on our own private patio. The wood fire crackling away and smores in abundance. My wife also sends her thanks to Mimi for a wonderful, caring massage. To everyone at The Pigs a huge thank you. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting something special and slightly different.

The drive from down South to Norfolk was long and awful so was so very pleased to be led to our fantastic room. The steam room was hot and ready to use and we popped the sauna on to heat up. We had ordered Prosecco for the room and it really was good quality and just what we needed. Would have liked some glasses with it though as had to drink it from water glasses. Excellent instructions on how everything works and menus to whet the appetite pre dinner/brunch. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Nice tea and coffee making facilities that were of much better quality than standard hotels etc. It really is somewhere that you only need to leave your room to eat if you want to which is perfect for total relaxation. We did opt to walk into near by Holt via some footpaths and it is a beautiful little town with many amenities and shops. Breakfast is served from early morning to 2pm which again is perfect for those not wanting to be up too early. The quality of food is exceptional. The 2nd night however the restaurant was too hot. It felt claustrophobic and I had to go outside to cool off. We opened the window behind our table which made it more bearable but this night the staff were not so attentive. Then breakfast in the morning again the staff were chatting and not minding tables. Cleanliness is generally good but a little more attention to detail is needed and the shower head in our room trickled as it was full of limescale. I would go back but the journey is a killer so maybe give it a couple of years.

When you walk into The Pigs you are greeted with a genuinely warm welcome, regardless of who sees you first or who you are. The staff treat everyone equally, which is rare these days, they are friendly, efficient and make you feel as though nothing is too much trouble. This was our second stay at The Pigs, we were lucky enough to have 2 nights this time. Everything was perfect, the room was spotless, the steam room and sauna heated up quickly, the toiletries are divine, the towels are huge, robes are snuggly and fit both of us. The heating is easy to use and the room was toasty warm. We had 4 meals, all were of an exceptional standard with generous portions and again, excellent staff serving. The buttermilk chicken with pancakes for breakfast, the black pudding scotch egg, the 'marathon' (I seriously want the recipe for that!) were all stand out dishes, and I ate so many of the little black pudding sausage rolls on the first morning I couldn't move for hours, they are pure heaven. The beds are huge and comfy with a variety of pillows. We also had a couples massage (how lucky we are!) which was the icing on a very decadent and wonderful cake. Thankfully we have a night booked in February, the night after we get married so you could call it a honeymoink (instead of a honey..moo..n, sorry, I'll stop there). The whole experience was perfect, thanks to the team and please do pass on our compliments to the kitchen staff and cleaners who you don't see but who do a fantastic job, bravo all, can't wait for February.

This was brought for my husband for his Christmas present and our 9month old puppy. We stayed in the original spa room which had a sauna, bath and outside fire pit in a private courtyard. We are here for 2 nights and used the Norfolk passport saving 10%, and the breakfast was included was unreal with all the selection. We also had a back massage in the spa which was very professional. Amazing hotel, pub, restaurant, spa but you really need to book well in advance. All staff very helpful.

This was our second visit but it was only for the night with breakfast. We were in room 18 which wasn’t as spacious as our previous stay in room 14 but was a great stay. All the features incorporating sauna, steam, huge bath tub, huge TV, big bed, outside space with fire pit. We have been ill so put the visit on hold and then we had really bad news the day before and wondered if it was a good time to go ….. it was a great distraction and worked well. Sorry to see the oils were not available anymore and the breakfast menu looked reduced but the staff were great as usual. Also nice to be left alone to get on with the stay!
