Zomay Beachfront Holbox

Location, Good compromise if you want to split time between their beach club and going downtown for dinner, drinks, party. The downside is that you can hear the music from a club nearby till midnight, it isn't loud at least in my room, but some may have problem sleeping. If you want a quiet place you should look further from dt. Service, it's pretty good, staff is friendly and happy to help. Beach club, nice but small beach, lots of shade, staff can get overwhelmed with the orders, resulting on a bit of chaos. (Beach bar was closed due to a recent storm, so things may be different when open). You can have some of your own drinks and food. Rooms (at leas mine) rustic construction, be ready to hear some outside noise and other rooms noise. They are kept clean, no insects, well maintained. Bed was firm. Shower was acceptable (variable pressure, takes to figure out how to get the right water temp.). Towels, you'll have to ask to be swapped (you're on a small island and h2o is limited). How fast is service in Holbox? well not fast, you're in an island in the Caribbean so if you expect fast service it'll be hard to find here.

Amazing experience, great location, superb view will come again definitely. It was a pleasure tu stay there, amazing stuff . It was a pleasure to meet Ricar one of d members from d stuff. If you come to Holbox you definitely need to visit this place.

Just returned from a great week at Zomay. The day we were suppose to leave the ferries weren’t running due to high winds. Thank goodness for Daniel. He helped us rebook our room, shuttle and flights. We were so thankful for all he did for us. And after all the extra costs they comped our room. What great service. He made a stressful time so much easier. Thank you!!!!!

Our room smelled of sewer, so bad that we had to cancel our reservation. First they offerered us refund minus 25%, when we said no they said its that or nothing, but luckely ********** helped us quikly and contacted the hotel and solved everything! We would not stay here again.

This is not an island with huge branded hotels, let me start with that! The location was fantastic for us, right on the beach and only a 5 minute walk from the town, and maybe 15/20 minute walk to the ferry. The bar on the beach was well stocked and the staff were brilliant, we were very well looked after. Cocktails were some of the best we have had on our trip, and the food was also good quality. Bungalow room did the job, but maybe just a bit too small to be able to stretch out and be comfortable without our luggage everywhere. The bed was also tiny, but that’s down to the size of the room. Beech front was nice, and a perfect place for sunset, but the perimeter fencing to stop non guests walking by could do with some TLC. Like all hotels, avoid being ripped off buying excisions through them and go down town and see the locals. Kayak trip with the hotel was 1100 pesos each and down town it was only 800, which also included hotel pick up / water / fruit etc

Beautiful beautiful location. Right on the beach: superb sunset location, with a short walk into town for restaurants and other amenities. Loved hanging out by the sea and the laid back shoeless atmosphere of the place…. BUT the customer service by the hotel is odd, actually fairly poor. Nice pleasant staff, but no real service to speak of. We arrived having booked a 5 person Ocean View cabana to find only 4 beds. I asked if they would be putting a 5th bed in. They asked if I had booked an extra bed? I said no, but I had obviously booked and paid for 5 people? Much discussion and a bed was put in which was totally fine but very bizarre way to start. Then sat down for lunch, kids excited to see pizzas, burgers, hummus on menu. Ordered and was told they had none of these so we wandered into town. When we came back later we saw pizza being served… Asked when we arrived if Yoga was included with room and was told yes and that it’s on Wednesday-Sunday. Also the sign made it look like paddle boards and yoga were included, other things were extra. Did yoga with my daughter, then got charged £30 as it isn’t included. Awkward discussion with the yoga teacher but paid as obviously not her fault. Rooms are fine. Other reviews have said backpacker style. I think that’s probably fair but you do see that on the pictures. I The location is superb. The general feel is lovely. Would I recommend? Book again? Unsure.
