Hotels Near Matatsu Shrine in Hokuryu

We had some problems getting to the hotel, as Google maps insisted on pointing us to another deserted building down the street (which also had a sign Takasago onsen). Once we got in, it turned out nobody at the reception spoke any English, luckily one of the other guests who was just checking in volunteered to interpret. It turned out that they wanted to notify us that the AC in our room was broken (it was 35 degrees outside). After refusing to accept that room, they gave us another room with a working AC. The hotel itself is very similar to other big spa hotels we stayed in, reasonably comfortable rooms, big buffet meals, but the quality of the food was so so, but the highlight of the place was the onsen, with about 10 inside pools and a nice outside jacuzzi. I guess that was the big attraction for all the tourist groups.

When I made a reservation, I wrote that I would like to tell you if I have allergies, so I was inquiring from the ”inquiry” on the homepage, but there was no reply until check-in. The man at this front desk did not accurately grasp the information of the allergy that you have already told. And dinner. When guided to the seat, there was no confirmation of allergy. When I was waiting for 30 minutes in the seat, the next 々 and the meal with allergy were carried. Even if I explained that there was something impossible, I was carried again. The next morning breakfast asked me to teach you a dish containing allergens, but finally I didn't tell you anything. Allergy is death-driven, and it must be treated carefully. That's the state. There was no sharing of information. What if I die in my mouth without notice? If I can't cope with allergies, if I can't cope from the beginning, the guests can cope with it. The facilities were good, but the software part was the worst hotel at all.

There was no special eye-catching sign at the entrance of the hotel, which caused my car to over the head. The hotel is like a simple apartment building, which can be seen from the second photo. Currently here at the hotel n is my 5th day. Twin room is big. Facilities r good. Staff are polite and helpful. I commented that the lounge coffee does not allow to take up to the room n so I asked the staff to recommend nearby cafes. After that there was a notice stating guests can bring up e lounge coffee if they like. Wow so impressive that they pick up the feedback immediately. Location is gd with jr station, intercity buses n taxi stand right beside the hotel. Amenities r gd. I used the laundry facilities and you can exchange coins with the reception counter. Everything so convenient n pleasant. I can view the mountains from my room. I will stay again.

It is a little far from the station, but it is not a distance that can't walk. There were drinkers and restaurants nearby. The room is old, not clean, and the outside of the window is the wall of the next building. It was a room with an extra bed (total ３ floor) set in a large double (there was an explanation from the hotel side at check-in), and it was difficult to walk in the room, and it felt narrow. A little arrangement in the room? Some places, but there were old but necessary things, and there was no inconvenience. I thought it was a general commercial business hotel, not for resort travel in Hokkaido.

The receptionist was kind enough to tell me where the izakaya was, and the amenities were plentiful. You don't need to bring anything. I also liked the fact that we wore work clothes instead of yukata, which made it easier to move around and relax. The hot springs and sauna were great. However, it would have been better if the men's and women's baths were switched between morning and evening. There seemed to be an open-air bath in the men's bath, which I would have liked to have used. The breakfast buffet was also worth the price. I enjoyed Japanese food, Western food, and even Asahikawa ramen. The accommodation fee was also reasonable, so I would like to use it again.

Very convenient location since it is near JR station and shopping district. Driving distance to attractions range from 20 mins to 1 hour. Amenities such as face oil,, toner, cream, tea bags, coffee drops bags, toothpaste and toothbrush are readily available at hotel lobby at no extra charge.
