We had a very memorable stay at Khaya Ndlovu Safari Manor. Right from the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly. I wasn’t feeling well but after a few hours in my incredibly comfortable bed I felt rested and restored. We were travelling with a one year old, and by the end of our six days all the staff knew her, were so very kind, and cooked her some great healthy meals. If you are a family travelling I highly recommend rooms one, two snd three in the manor house. It’s a three bedroom wing with a long wide entrance area which was also for our sole use and perfect for the one year old to play and crawl around in. All our meals were delicious, and the brai night was a real treat. We were amazed at all the game we saw so close to Hoedspruit and we experienced some wonderful sightings. Most visitors don’t stay six days but we really loved our time, some days just relaxing by the pool or looking over to the waterhole, drink in hand, in front of the bar and restaurant which had many animals visit. Advise and Kirsten were incredibly helpful organising all our transfers and a visit to the animal rehabilitation centre. Our washing was beautifully done and I must add Khaya Ndlovu is excellent value for money. We were very sad to leave and plan to come back for sure. Highly recommend for family’s or any mix of people.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our tour. We will always remember walking into the restaurant and the amazing view of the watering hole beside the property which is almost constantly attended by animals. The staff across the board could not do enough for guests and the food was good - although a little more variety of the lunch menu would be better but we only ate lunch 3 days so it may have changed after but this in no way detracted from anything about this amazing place. The game drives were excellent as were our driver guide & spotter. They couldn’t do enough to find animals to show you and we got sooooo close. Their knowledge and stories were good as well. The only thing we didn’t see was a leopard but one had been killed by lions the week before. Amazing lodge thoroughly recommended

Khaya Ndlovu is worth every single cent. I've been to Hoedspruit a couple of times, and this was one for the books. If you're looking for a quiet *5-star* experience, this is your best bet. Got to see 5 of the Big Five - the food at the BOMA was great. Everything about the experience was to die for. Highly recommend Khaya Ndlovu.

If I had to choose the perfect place to start a safari, Khaya Ndlovu would be it. No question. It’s the kind of place that lets the dust of the real world settle. The kind that gently resets your internal clock and reminds you you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. The view alone is enough to stop you in your tracks. Those Drakensberg mountains stretch out across the horizon like a promise. Mornings here feel like something sacred. Coffee in hand, birdsong in the background, that first breath of bushveld air filling your lungs. It’s the beginning of something good. But what really sets Khaya apart is the people. I’ve stayed here with guests more times than I can count, and every single visit has been marked by the same thing—genuine kindness. The staff don’t just work here. They welcome you like old friends. There’s something effortless in the way they make you feel at home, like you’ve been coming for years even if it’s your first time. Khaya Ndlovu isn’t just a stopover. It’s an arrival. A landing pad for the soul before the wildness of safari fully kicks in. And every time I bring a group here, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. I look forward to many more mornings on that deck, many more laughs around that fire, and many more happy returns.

We stayed for 3 nights in the safari tent nearby the drinking area for the animals. The game drives (we had 5) were excellent, the driver (Sammy) made a real effort to spot different animals. The overall experience of our stay has been excellent. We specifically liked the personal touch of the team. The set up of the Lodge is fantastic and nicely located so you can feel the connection with the wild life. June '25 Mart & Marije

We visited Khaya Ndlovu for a game drive and dinner with family. We have done this many times in the past and always try to make a visit whenever we are in the Hoedspruit area. The setting of the Manor House is exquisite, with the most amazing view across the bush to the Drakensburg Mountains. There is a classy touch of colonial comfort and style about Khaya, but it still manages to embody a relaxing, friendly and uniquely special quality. The game drive on this occasion was excellent, with a great guide and tracker. We saw cheetah, elephant, rhino, and a pride of six lion in addition to many species of plains game. The food was equally good, with attentive and friendly service, and once again we left having been crafted a wonderful family memory.

Beautiful manor house with lush gardens overlooking a water hole where you can just observe giraffes, impalas, and many other animals at anytime during the day. Among the best boutique hotels we’ve been, the personalized service and attention of the staff, especially Truth, Advice, Jabu & Raymond was incredible. All meals were wonderful and house wine selection“Tokara” was very nice. A small point of improvement, having a wine & cocktail menu would help know the full list of options and price range available. Leadwood suite was very spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and gave a real sense of place. WiFi was a bit patchy and there’s no TV in room but we were not there for that! We could hear the freight trains passing day and night but wasn’t a major distraction. This is perhaps the cost of convenience, the lodge is 10 min away from both the main town and airport of Hoedspruit - a plus for those with limited time. Cici at the spa took great care of us for massages and facial treatments. Beautiful secluded spot overlooking the Savanah and nice products. Game drives were exceptional, we saw cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions.. it’s worth doing as many game drives you can with Khaya Ndlovu; Elsa, Harry and Terence were really good at replying to all our questions and explaining all aspects of the unique ecosystem. Point of improvement: external groups coming for game drives could be kept away from the pool and deck area - as their arrival/departure disrupted the tranquility and sense of privacy. We would certainly recommend to others and look forward to coming back!
