We had an incredible and memorable family holiday at the Moditlo River Lodge. The hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the room and facilities and food quality served exceeded our expectations! The chefs were excellent in the preparation of the meals and waiting staff most kind. Special thanks to the chefs and management for accommodating HALAL meat options for our dietary needs! The best part of the trip were the game drives. Rico (driver/guide) and Mdu (watcher/tracker) were an excellent duo for our 4 game drives. Their professionalism, experience, knowledge of the animals, humor, conduct and priority in safety were excellent! My kids, wife and I had an amazing and unforgettable experience as we tracked the Big 5 and more with Rico's skills and sense of adventure. Will definitely recommend the Moditlo River Lodge stay and game drives with Rico and Mdu to all our family and friends.

This was a wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. The food was great and the safari drives, guide and tracker were excellent.The accommodation was exelent and rooms where comfortable and very clean,make a booking!

We booked the Ukanyi villa (3 bedroom with en suite) + private plunge pool. All activities included (game drives, meals, butler, maid, chef, guard) and we added on excursion for half day Kruger National Park (Moditlo is a private game reserve in the Greater Kruger) and also the spa. The best part: 1) our ranger (Reco) and tracker (Mdo) was so keen on spotting all the animals - not only the extensive bird species, but we got to complete the big 5 at 3rd day - the skittish leopard being the hardest. And after that day, they managed to track another leopard and with them, we went to the distance by getting close but safely near the lions, elephants, cheetah, leopards, rhinos, giraffe and others. We gained so much information from Reco and he did deliver up to and exceeding beyond our expectations, while writing this in Hamad Intnl Airport, I missed Moditlo already. 2) Thanks to Ukanyi team - Thuli our butler, chef Ken and maid Jenet for accommodating us for 4nights we're there. And the managers - for adressing to our halal requirement, and provided the best meal throughout 3) The location is not far from Kruger Orpen gate, or the Eastgate airport Be sure to bring extra for tipping the staffs because they truly deserve it! Lastly, the spa service was exceptional, masseuse was professional and the chirping cicadas gave relaxing mood. Maybe can add products used for guests to buy, especially the milk bath you guys put in the villa. This is our 1st experience going to African safari, and there couldnt be any better place to be rather than in the hands of the best ranger Reco!

We spent a fantastic few days at Moditlo River Lodge, filled with relaxation, excellent food and action packed game drives. The staff were exceptional, all very kind and professional. My family and I were treated like royalty - the best service we have ever received when going on holiday. I was impressed with the knowledge of our tracker and driver on the game drives, they were able to answer all the questions I had about the animals and nature. We saw all of the Big 5, many hippos and giraffes and the best part is we got to see them up close and personal (see my photos!) I particularly enjoyed the cold face towels and South African liqueur the friendly staff handed out when we came back from the morning or night drive. The rooms and other facilities in the lodge were very tidy and I appreciated the theme of the entire place, a very relaxed vibe. The food was great, highlights included the Koedoe steak and the traditional South African food like boerewors and lamb potjie (stew). If you want to have an exclusive and personalised 5 star experience with exceptional service in one of the most beautiful parts of Africa, I highly recommend Moditlo River Lodge.

Our stay at Moditlo was spectacular and wonderful. The fully equipped cabins, set in an unparalleled environment, allowed us to fully enjoy the Kruger Park experience. Our guide, Reco, and our tracker, Darek, made our safari an incredible adventure. They are very professional, friendly, and pleasant. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience at Moditlo. We spent 3 nights there and we were welcomed with a typical braai dinner. During our stay we had two game drives a day and were able to see many animals. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was superlative. Special thanks to our guide Dumi that made every game drives as a unique adventure. He is very passionate about his job and gave us many information about the animals. Also special thanks to Erick for being our waiter; he is very kind and made everything for making us feel home. I highly recommend the Moditlo River Lodge.
