Hotels near Mount Wellington in Hobart

Great base for our 2 night Hobart stay. A little out of the city centre and up quite a steep hill, I'm not sure it's location would suit those without a car, but if you have one it's an ideal spot. The whole property looked well maintained including the pool and games room (although we didn't have time to use either). Our 3 bedroom villa (no. 12) had a fantastic view out over the city and river and easy parking in front. It was very spacious, clean, modern and comfortable with two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) and a compact but perfectly adequate kitchen. I would have given five stars but we were there during a heat wave and although the air conditioning worked really well downstairs, there is none upstairs and it was very hot by the end of the day making it difficult to sleep. Unfortunately there are no flyscreens on the windows either, so we didn't feel comfortable opening them. Aside from this though a great spot for spacious self contained accommodation.

I don't know why Ctrip's price list does not include breakfast. Also add 50 more knives. The hotel said that the room was full of breakfast. I don't know if Ctrip wants to collect the difference or what. Five stars praised the hotel, the environment is very good. Same as the picture. Ctrip bad review.

Great location in bush setting. All informatiin sent in email before stay was helpful, so access was easy. Self contained cabin,with all you need, included. Great for short, or longer stays. Not far from city centre

A little bit out of the way of shops etc but has a pub right next door for a drink and meal. The room was comfortable and had evrything you need (except towels which they promptly got when asked) Not the flashest place but did the job with friendly staff and easy parking,

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat,sun,mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. We absolutely loved our stay at the Grand Vue Hotel. I booked this hotel for my Partners birthday and it really exceeded both of our expectations. Everything provided was of excellent quality, rooms were spotless and the owners had clearly thought about every last detail to make a guests experience amazing. The bedrooms and living areas are beautiful and we particularly liked the front room with the fire place. The view from our room was also superb! The kitchen facilities were fantastic and there was fresh bread, home baked goods and croissants put out every morning (which were amazing!). We arrived in Hobart early morning but the owners let us check in to our room really early which was very much appreciated. I thought the guest information provided (e.g. scenic trips, restaurants, bars) etc was extremely helpful! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top quality, comfort and a luxurious stay.

A house has two rooms and 4 people. The dining room is large, the cooking is convenient, the facilities are very complete, there is a dishwasher, and the washing machine dryer is also added. The lady at the reception was very nice, helping to book a ticket to Bruny Island.

The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights. As a rest stop during our trip to Tasmania, the attitude of the front desk of the apartment was acceptable. There is an elevator. There is a double bed and a single bed in the room. The kitchen facilities are quite complete, but not Clean, so much so that we went and bought a frying pan ourselves. In terms of cleaning, simply doing it every day is not enough. The apartment has convenient parking and a good location. Everything is within walking distance.

I checked in an hour ago and have considered checking out. Bathroom is gross - shower, grout, and toilet. If the blinds are open, it leaves you exposed to people potentially using a walking trail outside your window, but with the blinds closed the room is very dim. There is a dead bug and spider web on/around my window. Walls are marked everywhere. I can scratch 'substances' off surfaces that clearly haven't been cleaned properly. The microwave both looks and smells like a pasta sauce disaster. It should be spotless. The arm chair in the room could use a decent scrub/be replaced - its arms are black. I was paying exactly the same price for a motel in Sandy Bay earlier this week and the quality far exceeded this one. Would absolutely not stay again. Its gross. No attention to detail. Really disappointing. Really want to go back to Sandy Bay!! Phone cannot pick up the Wi-Fi network. I was given a card with the password, but not the network name? Staying for convenience only to be near my elderly parents.
