It’s located in a quiet valley smack in the middle of Ninh Binh. The pool could be a little clearer but it’s ok to swim. Staff was very helpful and attentive the room is functional but hey you are there to explore the beautiful scenery and not the room. For 2-3 day trip it’s a great homebase with stunning view.

10/10 Detailed review from an American. Room: clean, modern, upscale. Western-style furniture. Spacious beds. Nice furniture, free toothbrushes and combs, lovely bathroom facilities. Noise level: PEACEFUL and QUIET! Relaxing, if you want to escape the city noise. It is the countryside after all. You can see water buffalo herds in the fields nearby if you take a walk outside the hotel. I can watch them from my hotel window. Staff and service: AMAZING! So friendly and helpful and honest hardworking staff. Won't cheat or scam. Use google translate if needed. Honestly the staff made our stay so good we extended the stay an extra day. Ask them for local recommendations (they don't get a kickback from any recommendations so its all genuine) Food: RECOMMENDED! Especially for travelers afraid of getting food poisoning or upset stomach from street food. Restaurant quality, home-cooked/cooked-to-order meal. Clean kitchen facility. Good prices, cheap. Made with love, the manager herself cooked a lot of the meals for us and they were delicious (for reference, im vietnamese-american so in my humble opinion, the authenticity is excellent and pleasing to a western palate as well. Personal Recommendation: Want a nice dinner thats still authentic? Order your food and eat outdoors in the cool of the evening, try the barbeque-it-yourself beef and goat. Delicious, hand-marinated quality beef cuts and goat, and they give you a little tabletop BBQ pit for you to bbq your meat just how you like it. Order some side dishes and its a great and fun family meal. If you want to and the staff aren't busy, they can bbq it for you if you want, but I think its fun to do it yourself. The location is out in the countryside but don't be alarmed because the hotel is a short drive from the main city center and tourist spots. The bad: - The beer is warm lol. They should refrigerate it. - Tip: if you ask for ”wine”, note that its vietnamese hard liquor, not the western understanding of wine (grapes). - There's a stupid rooster nearby from one of the local farms and it likes to crow all day. If you stay in the downstairs rooms you might be able to hear it, but if you stay in the upper floors you can't hear it. Would stay again.

The room (premium deluxe) was absolutely stunning, with a very beautiful scenic view, a very comfortable matress and very clean also. The location is also very good, its convenient to walk and see tam coc and also for the boat trips. The breakfast was good and there is a nice pool to swim. That said, We had a big problem of noise : a new bar opened next door and the noise was umbelievably loud, the staff could’nt tell us what was the closing hour of the bar and wasn’t capable of going and pick the information when we asked several time. They did a discount on the room because we could’nt sleep at all (it was like we were in the bar) so I thank them for that because they tried their best to help us, but in the future I hope that they can make an arrangment on the level of noise with the new bar, otherwhise, clients will not be respected for what they pay…

Beautiful little homestay, on a quiet side street in Tam Coc, run by a very nice couple, Tommy and Lily. Spacious rooms , very clean, balcony, very good breakfast on the patio, with excellent coffee! Tommy was super helpful to arrange our transfer by bus, even at the last minute, and he walked us to the bus stop and waited to make sure we got on OK! They are both fluent in English, and very friendly. We greatly recommend!

We really liked it here. A beautiful hotel, an aesthetic bar, the view from the window was a little disappointing, towards the swamp, but such a location... the center is coca, where all the cafes are 5 minutes by bike. The staff solved any questions, a very hospitable place!
Free sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast is good. They gave us a nice new bike to rent.

GGuest UserI have been travelling for around 6 weeks now and this is by far the best homestay that I’ve stayed in whilst being here. The rooms are extremely spacious with A/C, the pool was lovely and the location is superb. The ladies that runs this homestay needs her own paragraph because she is phenomenal, whether it’s recommending places to go or helping with any day to day issues you may have she is always on hand to help. Our bus out of Ninh Binh was a late one but she let us keep the room all day free of charge because of how hot it was. Not only this, when we left she provided us with water and snacks to take with us. She is an absolute credit to the homestay and I cannot praise this absolute gem of a place to stay enough.

SStephanieI truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Dzung and his family were so kind and generous. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. The pictures of the home stay on the internet do not do this place justice. Dzung has made every effort to make his guests feel at home. We each had bicycles that we could use free of charge. The breakfasts that his wife made were delicious, best pancakes! We had our own bathrooms and the rooms and facilities were absolutely pristine. Trip.com indicated that this home stay had shared washrooms but this isn’t always the case, we had our own private bathrooms. We also couldn’t get enough of the rooftop pool! Dzung was so helpful showing us where to go and what to do. The home stay is so conveniently located, away from the hustle and bustle. So tranquil and peaceful. We will mostly definitely be returning. This was truly a special experience that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Dzung and your family for being the most gracious hosts. We felt as though we were a part of your family. We will see you all soon!

I'm not going to lie, when we first checked in here I was extremely skeptical as our initial room was not up to par. After going back and forth with my Husband on whether or not to move to another spot we decided to give it a chance and asked to switch rooms instead. The Woman (I am so sad/sorry I did not get her name and will lovingly refer to her as Boss Lady) at the desk heard our concerns and immediately got us switched over to another room that was WAY better. Long story short, out of our 2 weeks in Vietnam (luxury hotels and otherwise) I think this was our favorite stay. Our best breakfast in Vietnam was here. It was delicious and made me feel like it was made with love and that brightened my spirits. Boss Lady helped me make a perfect 2 day itinerary in the region and helped me avoid some pitfalls. She also recommended an amazing massage spot. I felt like she was a trusted friend. Boss Lady and her family made our stay magical. I booked this homestay after a recommendation from Lilly at Grand Hotel Du Lac in Hanoi. I'm so happy we took her advice. We loved this homestay and can't wait to return.

This is a wonderful place to stay for a few days. Clean, centrally located , good choice for breakfast including freshly squeezed juice Plenty hot water and air con However the highlight had to be Huyen, the fabulous lady who owns this with her husband. She goes out her way to make sure you see her part of the world, are happy with everything and tells you all about her family and history. She is warm and so welcoming She arranged a driver for a day to take us to various places. A Malaysian couple came to stay too and she hooked us up for the day. This made for a very fun day getting to know them Google translate is how Huyen communicates and she doesn’t well. Please stay here if you get the chance

From before we arrived the receptionist was messaging asking for our time of arrival what our plans are and suggesting things to do! ☺️ Our washing was done so fast and they also organised a bike for us. Breakfast was lovely and while we were waiting for our bus when we were leaving we were given free refreshments and then a lift into town from the lady for free which she didn’t need to do! Thank you for looking after us so well.

GGuest UserOur arrival didn't go very well. The toilet didn't work and the manager immediately set to work to fix it but no success. So then he had to put us in the very last available room which was not as nice as what we booked. However, the next day we were given a new good room. Our booking included breakfast but no breakfast is served at the place. So he took us on a motorbike to a restaurant nearby where we were allowed to order a cheap brekfast. So don't book it with meals. Our main problem was that the manager guy spoke no English at all. You had to type your questions on his phone which translated it. That made you think twice before asking. Also he was always very serious, no smiles at all. But he did fix all the issues, so he is working hard. We actually wanted to book a room at Tam Coc FriendLY Homestay but somehow we booked this one by mistake. Even the taxi brought us to the wrong one, so beware of the difference! It is a little bit out of Tam Coc town, but very close to the Bich Dong Pagoda. There are a few Vietnames restaurants nearby, walking distance. The nice thing is that you can use the bikes for free. So we cycled to Tam Coc, Hang Mua and Trang An with the bikes provided. The homestay is on a side road, very quiet. It has a small swimming pool and there were kids in it enjoying it grately. The room is very large, the largest we had in Vietnam. It has AC, WiFi, fridge and kettle (bring your own supplies). The bathroom is also quite spacious but the shower goes all over it. The sink is outside the bathroom in the room, which was nice. Things were clean. We stayed here 3 days and once we knew how to operate (restaurants, bikes) we felt alright.

GGuest UserGreat position, near the Birch Dong pagoda, near town, but close enough out that it feels more authentic. The bungalows are clean and comfortable, right next to a karst mountain with a massive cave that goes under it. You can ask them to take you on a boat ride through to the other side, where a village lady took us through a cave system. 200,000 baht for two, the villager asked for a tip of 50,000baht, for the three of us, which is uncomfortable, but I paid as for me it was worth it. Just hate the tipping culture would rather know a price upfront. But that was not the bungalows fault. Enjoyed the food, and the family, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. And they understood our English.

The hotel is clean and breakfast is really delicious, their spring rolls & pho are the best I have tried in Vietnam. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and we are grateful that everyone in this hotel going the extra miles to make us feel welcomed. Highly highly recommend.

The location of the home stay was super for this and we were also delighted that the staff were helpful in arranging transport to the train station and Trang An. Until we came to leave, we would have been comfortable leaving a 3 or 4 out of 5 rating. We were however made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the man who oversaw our stay, as he began hassling us to leave a review before we had had breakfast. This intensified when we returned from our day out; we were obliged to leave a review before he would drive us to the station (which we had already paid him for). We left a generous review on *********** (averaged at 8.0/10) which did highlighted the one area we felt was lacking - the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. The man then proceeded to drive incredibly unsafely (including at points driving without holding the steering wheel, across two lanes in relatively busy traffic and far slower than the rest of the traffic) whilst using his phone to translate his haranguing of us about our review, eventually resulting in us having to speak to his boss on the phone about why we hadn’t left a 10/10 review. The entire interaction left us feeling distinctly uncomfortable and spoiled the end of our trip. We were relieved to get out of the vehicle, even though it was not in the drop-off location we had agreed.

GGuest UserTam Coc de la Montagne resort Our family of four stayed here as part of our Intrepid Tour visit to Vietnam. We occupied two rooms for two nights. Overall our experience was very positive. The beds and pillows were comfortable. All the outlets work and are plentiful. The bathrooms are recently updated. The rooms are very clean with a stocked mini bar and a few complimentary treats and water. The WiFi is free and speedy. We used the laundry service which managed to deliver same day! The kitchen is creating good food! We dined there both nights. The pasta and pizza are as good as you will get anywhere. The salads are fresh and dressings delicious. Breakfast is similar to most hotels in Vietnam with a few fun surprises (onion rings or meatballs, anyone?) The bar is fine and the espresso was satisfying. My wife and daughters took advantage of the spa and enjoyed hair washes and a hot stone experience that was very enjoyable. The service overall is friendly and attentive. The main hall/reception is stunning, they have created a truly welcoming and comfortable place to eat and relax. The grounds are adorned with flower shrubs and cultured trees, making the walk to our room very pleasant. The shower uses a dedicated water heater in the bathroom so be aware that the hot water won't last long. During our visit the pool was still empty as it is undergoing a refresh. There are complimentary bicycles which can be used to tour the area, we used them to view the Buffalo cave and pedal to the Hang Mua lookout. My wife and I occupied a room near the pool which was very quiet at bedtime. My daughters were closer to the entrance so unfortunately were subjected at bedtime to loud karaoke from a neighbouring establishment. My rating is based on value for price and the location and facilities available in this gorgeous part of the world. I'm sure as time goes on the management will continue to improve and refine their offering.
