We very much enjoyed our stay at Hirundhoo. Beach Bungalow was very spacious, well equipped, loved option to shower outside under the stars. Sea view restaurant served amazing variety and quality of food, so much choice each night all delicious. Staff were all brilliant, so friendly, from reception, restaurant and housekeeping, great asset to this resort. Great snorkelling around the island with a plethora of fish, sea turtles, rays, reef sharks, everyday we spotted something new. We appreciated access to the games room having fun playing darts, table tennis and table football. Got hooked playing BOCCE in the shade of the palm trees. The bio top pool was something different, looks very green from a far but waters actually clear when you swim. Beach bar perfect position to watch sunset whilst enjoying cocktails. Also lake bar great to relax after evening meal. Encourage you to take mosquito spray as they will bite.

From landing at the airport then travelling by sea plane the whole experience was amazing. We stayed in a water bungalow and we were not disappointed, the room was large and lots of natural light the complementary washing products were a nice surprise. We used the outdoor shower all the time. Being divers we had high hope for some good dives again we were not disappointment. Joy diving were very professional and took us to some amazing dive site, where we saw turtles, sharks, moray eels, rays plus loads of beautiful fish species. Our biggest highlight was a snorkelling trip to the UNESC site where the manta ray come and visit every year to feed of the plankton this experience was out of this world and we could of stayed there all day just watching these magnificent creature swim and circle round you so close you could touch them, this is something we will never forget. Even the snorkelling was excellent you could see rays, sharks and lots of fish just from the bottom of our water bungalow. We did half board plus and the food was excellent lots of choice and two restaurants to choose from. The island also had two bars, the beach bar which got busy at sunset and the lake bars where you can borrow a game whilst enjoying a drink. All the staff in the resort were friendly and helpful and the day we were set to leave the reception allowed us to hold on to our room due to a late flight without charge. So if you want a totally relaxing holiday the Maldives is the place. We can’t wait to return.

We left dreamlands yesterday after a 10 day all inclusive holiday. This was our 1st time to the Maldives and certainly won’t be our last. We had such an amazing holiday, we are booking again for the same time next year. On arrival: The sea plane was also a 1st for us. Landing at a pontoon out at sea and we then got collected by speed boat. Once we arrived at the islands jetty, we were given a fresh ice cold towel and welcoming drink. Reception check in went smoothly and once we were cleared, we were taken to our water bungalows, with cases being brought shortly after. Water bungalows: We had already upgraded when we booked the holiday as we wanted the full experience in our 1st Maldivian holiday. We had rooms facing the open sea side, which worked out perfect to go snorkelling each morning. The rooms are huge and kept real clean. Loved the outdoor shower. Snorkelling: We went everyday to different parts of the island. Never failed to spot turtles & reef sharks, which was our aim. But never failed to see different fish everyday. Always something new appeared. Admittedly the reef isn’t what it probably used to be, but that doesn’t stop the many thousands of fish swimming near it. Also, no need to bring snorkel masks with you, reception gives you them for free for the stay. If you’re not a strong or confident swimmer, there’s also a couple of life jackets in the rooms. Food: The food is just incredible. There is so much variety each meal time that if you can’t find anything you like, then it’s you that has issues, not the hotel. They cater for everyone. The 2 restaurants are the same layout and serve the same food. We always opted for the sea view side for obvious reasons. Nothing like looking out to sea eating breakfast and listening to the waves. Also a bonus when you see sharks, turtles & dolphins swimming nearby. Also, outside of the normal meal timings in the afternoons, there are toasted sarnies available from the Lakeview bar. This worked for us as we generally had a late breakfast, skipped lunch then had a toastie late afternoon. Staff: It’s just amazing how hard these work. They do the most incredible job and always do it with a smile on their face. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone we came across. They are so polite and cheerful, we built up a real good bond with many. Mainly the restaurant & bar staff. Great big pat on the back to you all. Excursions: We were offered a free excursion as part on all inclusive. We opted for the turtle snorkelling and wasn’t disappointed. Just amazing to see these beautiful creatures so gracefully swimming around us without a care in the world. We also paid to go in the dolphin spotting trip. This one is apparently a bit hit & miss. It’s called the ‘lucky dolphin spotting’ excursion. They do say beforehand that there’s a 50/50 chance you see them. However, we must have been the luckiest trippers alive that day. We saw hundreds close up and some even swam alongside the boat. Just incredible.

What an amazing island and holiday we had. To begin with this is our 12th island we have stayed on and it is the best we have been on exceeding Makunudu which we never thought would happen. Arrived approx. 11 am & were greeted by very informative reception staff & were in our bungalow no. 140 by midday. Perfect location, nice spacious bungalow we loved the outdoor shower with a friendly fruit bat in the tree most nights and a piece of beach to ourselves with sun beds. We were close to the dive centre and service jetty and we enjoy watching the activity going on throughout the day. On our first day on the beach we saw Dolphins swimming by fantastic start to a wonderful stay. 1. Restaurants & food Breakfast always in Seaview Restaurant super views sit on the outside and you can see sharks patrolling up and down. Great food from our Egg Man - Sarip he was brilliant fist pumps every morning and good chat. Very funny. Tea & coffee brought to your table. Staff to mention in both restaurants day and night Zaain, Hussain, Yassin, Hanid (our lovely fruit man) to name but a few but all staff are very friendly. Had most of our meals in Seaview but Lakeview Restaurant open in evenings also great service and food in both always plenty of selection and we didn’t have one bad meal. We were on Half Board plus which was perfect for us. 2. Bars Sunset beach bar is a great place to sit in the evening watching the sun go down again good service, choice of drinks and atmosphere. Lakeview Bar this was our favourite bar after we had eaten. Funny friendly staff Rasfvan and Mohammed plus others always ready with your next drink, cocktails were good the Black Russian lovely! We watched England play at midnight staff happy to stay and be part of the Euro’s something to remember. Always a very good vibe here. Especially enjoyed the snacks mid morning and afternoons in Lakeview tuna toasties and fries to die for with a cool beer nothing was too much trouble. 3. The Island Contrary to a previous report this island is Maldivian through and through, rustic, laid back, yes there is TV in your room but nobody makes you turn it on. Typical no shoes and no news. Bliss. Lovely to just walk around the island stopping off at a little hut with table tennis, darts and fuse-ball and Bouce game area, amazing pathways greenery always tidy, quiet with beautiful views and clean. Lots of palm trees of course. The snorkelling was at its best between water bungalows and dive centre, great drop off with lots of different fish, shoals in their thousands and some lovely black tip reef sharks spotted some everyday. We snorkelled everyday sometimes twice always something different to see. 4. The bio-top pool What a great experience swimming in this amazing warm natural pool. It was never dirty or smelly cleaned as we walked to breakfast every morning. There are tiny little fish in there with the outside covered in Lillies this was a first for us. The only bio pool in the Maldives. With fres

The island itself is so breathtakingly beautiful and the effort that goes into the maintenance is unmatched. However, that’s not what made this the perfect honeymoon - it was the people. It’s hard to explain just how wonderful the staff here are; they are so passionate about giving holidaymakers the best experience ever. Special mentions to Zaain, Ragu and SK Sarip in the sea view restaurant who's service goes above and beyond. The food and drinks are delicious and varied and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal here. It’s worth mentioning Abishake and Rashfan from the bar areas who are the friendliest and gave us lots of laughs and entertainment - Rashfan even showed us a few magic tricks! They’re very attentive and welcoming. The bungalows are spacious and clean, the bed big and very comfortable. The garden shower was one of our favourite details. We went on a few excursions, including the dolphin, sunset and fishing cruise - which was lovely. My only advice if visiting during rainy season is to book your trips early on as our turtle and manta snorkelling trips got cancelled several times so we never got around to doing them.

Currently at this resort and thought it’s worth a mention to the hard working staff on site ( there is nothing they will do to make your holiday perfect) . The rooms are fantastic, very big and spacious, they are cleaned twice a day ( special mention to Adam who looks after us ), if you want something to do this is not the place it’s just to chill out and recharge your batteries, food so far has been very good and drinks are a plenty ( we went all inclusive) , journey here took a while but the sea plane and speed boat bought us to a heavenly resort . Any people coming to visit the island I would say yes and will be back . Any info let me know

Had a very relaxed chilled holiday here. Not a great start as airline forgot to load my bag, the hotel helped keeping me up to date with my luggage. The lady in souvenir shop was helpful with finding personal things to buy . We had a beachfront bungalow and got a free upgrade to a water. As some parts of the beach have nearly disappeared. Both accommodations were 100%. Clean spacious and lovely views. Room cleaned twice a day. Excellent food, staff in the bars and dining rooms are friendly helpful clean and very well presented. Nothing was too much trouble. The guy at breakfast makes great omelettes. And we tried some nice vegetable curries in the evening. The hotel grounds a very well kept. We went in quiet season so after a few days they closed the lake restaurant, which was ashame as it was nice and quiet there in the evenings and made a change from sitting in the beach one (which served breakfast and lunch). So eating all the time in the same restaurant was like staying in a hotel on the med. snorkelling is well worth a try. Colourful fish, turtles and even a shark. Some of the free boat trips didn’t go ahead due to lack of numbers which was ashame. But think that was just what people were staying there at the time Overall a clean friendly place to stay. Definitely a chill out place. Just a couple of negatives. On the beach area close to the water bungalows a few of the beds were broken and could have done either a few parasols or static straw umbrellas as when the sun came out, it was intense. And would have been nice if both restaurants stayed open

From the moment we stepped onto this island we had our every expectation exceeded. On arrival each couple was seated with one of the reservation team. I think our gentleman was Ahmed, he gave us an orientation of the island and was warm and welcoming. We were then escorted to our room by the room boy who took care of our room twice a day. The island is just stunningly beautiful and the ocean even more so. Highly recommend the trip to see the dolphins at sunset and the nurse sharks. Every member of staff on the island was polite and friendly. They work incredibly hard to make your stay as perfect as possible. Please if you can, leave reasonable tips. They never expect it but the service they provide is exceptional. The food was excellent and varied. The cocktails were strong and a nice selection was available. We stayed in a water villa and it had everything you need from shampoo to fly spray. Our villa 228 was absolutely perfectly situated on the ocean side. The water was like an aquarium from the moment you stepped in, and the drop off was close by, this was the perfect spot for snorkelling to see the beautiful Travely and roaming Reef Tips. The colours underwater were breathtaking. This place is truly a paradise. Don’t sweat the little things, just arrive, relax and everything will be perfect. Many thanks to all the staff who made this our dream holiday.
