Situated directly across from the Hiroshima A-Dome site, this hotel boasts a superb location near malls and amenities, with friendly staff enhancing the stay. Despite these advantages, several issues detract from the overall experience. The decor is outdated, and the air conditioning struggles with cooling, making it uncomfortable on warmer days. Guests must inconveniently leave room keys at the front desk upon each exit. Moreover, the in-room TV is notably smaller than advertised, and the absence of a breakfast option is a missed opportunity.

You can’t beat the location of this place, being directly across the street from the peace dome and within walking distance of the museum and everything that surrounds it. Also within a 2 minute walk is a shopping arcade as well as access to a ferry that takes you to miyajima. The breakfasts were absolutely fabulous and the room was large and spacious and very clean.

The location ist excellent. And maybe the Japanese breakfast is good. However, because of our negative experience with the room, we refrained from having breakfast at the hotel. Unfortunately we did not have a good stay at the hotel. Our room seemed not to have been cleaned properly for a long time and it had dust in many places. In the lavabo we found hair from another guest. The foutons and blankets were piled up in a closet. We had to sneeze a lot and could not sleep. Therefore we left the hotel after only one night although we had booked (and paid) for three nights. We were disappointed and could not understand why the hotel management would allow a room to look like ours. This was not the "Japan standard" that we encountered almost everywhere during our four week trip in this wonderful country. We hope that the room will be cleaned properly from now on and future guests will have a more pleasant stay.

First and foremost, the staff were all excellent; very friendly and helpful. The hotel's entrance is very nice with some uniquely Japanese features. You then need to remove and store your shoes in the genkan before entering the lobby. The hotel provides slippers, but just wearing your socks is fine too. The lobby has a nice Japanese garden outside and the check-in process is quick and efficient. There were some complimentary traditional Japanese cookies to enjoy on arrival to our room which were a nice touch, and we had a washitsu (traditional Japanese tatami room) on the 5th floor that was both spacious and very clean with a view of the A-Bomb Dome directly opposite from the hotel. Not exactly a 'nice' view in the traditional sense, but a somber reminder of the cities' history and we took the time to reflect on this while observing the destroyed but still beautiful building. The Peace Park and Museum are literally a 2-5 minute walk from hotel's front door and Okonimiyaki Mura is about a 10-15 minute walk down Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street. This is highly recommended, as okonimiyaki is Hiroshima's specialty dish and the serving sizes are massive! There is also an excellent second hand luxury goods store (Louis Vuitton, etc.) right next door to Okonomiyaki Mura called Foresight that we also highly recommend as their goods and prices were much better than we saw in Tokyo later in our trip. The hotel laid out our futons to sleep while we were at dinner and we enjoyed heading up to the public bath to shower and then enjoy their large and very clean ofuro style bath. Returning to our room once settled into our futons we had a great nights' sleep and felt very refreshed in the morning. We had a set breakfast with a great selection of different and delicious Japanese foods, including a little hot pan for us to cook some strips of beef and an egg on. Couldn't fault this hotel and will absolutely stay again on my next visit to beautiful Hiroshima!

We just loved the place. The hotel is perfectly located just in front of Genbaku Dome, and if your room is on the upper floors, you will be directly overlooking it (we were at 3rd floor and we had teh trees in front of us). The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly keep your luggage for the day if needed. The family room was very spacious and we had tea and delicious cookies in the room :) Last but not least, the public bath is absolutely amazing - located at the top floor, you can enjoy a direct view over the dome as well as amazing sunset. My very best hotel place in Japan so far

Had a sumptuous one night stay here, introducing the family to the ryokan experience. Check-in was gracious and easy, the family room was a good size (for Japan!) and the air conditioning in August was super-frosty. All facilities clean, with yukatas all round including little ones for the kids at reception. A sobering view of the A-bomb dome across the road, secreted behind trees providing kind cover. The onsen was hot and very welcome after all that walking. Traditional breakfast was a feast-like experience and the pickled plums turned our heads inside-out. Had a friendly chat with the owner as we checked out - a big Carp fan - that rounded off a very pleasant traditional stay.
