Very disappointed with the hot spring. The floor at the bottom of the spring is uneven and can hurt you. There is a strong smell of smoke in the bed The view towards the sea is unobstructed, a great place to watch the sunrise

The hotel is a bit old, but the service is very good and the staff are kind. The location is a bit far away, but the environment is good. I will stay here again if I have the opportunity.

The room was very average. The only thing worth commenting on is that it's big enough, but quite old and not very pleasant. The environment of the hotel is absolutely five-star. Outside the window is the green and clear bay, overlooking the Hirado Castle and the Iron Bridge.

The Japanese style room is very spacious. The windows face the sea. The scenery is very beautiful. It's just that the open air is not in the same place as the public bath. A little weird. Dinner and breakfast were average.

Pluses for this hotel - wonderful views and all rooms have a view! Such a friendly, helpful staff. We were not sure where the room for breakfast was and the lady at the front desk walked us to it which involved going upstairs and down a hallway! Fabulous traditional breakfast and the staff were very helpful in explaining how to eat dishes we were unfamiliar with. We rented a private onsen and it was wonderful with great views- we rented one of the open air ones. Minuses - the hotel needs updating - a little run down and the beds were not great - probably would have been better to sleep on the futons but we aren’t that spry anymore. The restaurant on site was not open anymore. Overall we have had a wonderful stay. I love Hirado and would come back to this hotel. Some of our party speak some Japanese but the staff spoke enough English that along with Google translate, English speakers would do fine!

I knew that this was an onsen hotel right from when I booked it. As it was so expensive I looked for other accommodation but there was none available and I couldn’t change the dates so took this risk and booked it. It’s only around 10 minutes’ walk from Hirado Sanbashi 平戸桟橋, the ferry terminal and bus terminal on the central Hirado Wharf where the bus which I caught from Sasebo Station terminates. Unfortunately, having tattoos, I couldn’t use the onsen but the blurb on the hotel’s web site looks like they are top class. When I arrived it was very busy and while I was there there was a lull flowed by another wave of guests so I suspect that, depending on the dates of a stay, it could be either very busy or having a lull. The food was exceptional and was included in the price. However, not really catering to foreign guests left me guessing about the food. It was all pretty much fresh vegetables, pickled vegetables and fish prepared in various ways. And lots of it so I didn’t go hungry while I was there. The staff were very helpful and between us we managed to communicate to one another. Would I recommend it? Yes, but it is expensive so that needs to be kept in mind. Location wise Hirado town is very walkable but if you are intending to go further afield (I kept mainly to sites in and around town) you’ll need a car or a good understanding of the bus routes and times.

There are ocean views at every corner. There was a nice ocean view everywhere, not only in the room but also in the open-air bath. The facilities are certainly old, but the ocean view is even more appealing. Unfortunately, since I stayed without meals this time, I can't write about my impressions of dinner and breakfast. Since the typhoon was approaching when we took the aquarium bath, the fish came close to the window, so we were able to see a lot of fish, and we were also able to see turtles, so we were satisfied. My daughter enjoyed it too. The downsides were that you weren't supposed to take a bath in the room, so shampoo etc. were not provided, and the water supply in the aquarium bath was not stable.

If you check the reviews beforehand, you will find some that are not very good, but perhaps because I went there after knowing some of them, my impression was much better than I expected. Probably because it was a busy time, the food and customer service were fine. The meal plan was a light meal, but I could see how polite they were. As expected, the entire equipment is old. That is also acceptable considering the magnificent ocean view. The other thing to consider is cost performance, but I was satisfied with that as I used an accommodation voucher as a hometown tax payment from Hirado City. As of May 2022, if you use this hotel, you can use the express bus to Hakata at a discount, so it was also convenient.

I stayed alone, but it was a bit of a hassle to go to the dining hall. I didn't have a bath in the large public bath. As expected, it would be difficult to move around, so I limited myself to the open air. Overall, I feel like it's quite old. However, our overseas employees are fluent in Japanese and are good at greeting each other.

I came here because I wanted to take an aquarium bath. Since Hirado was connected by a bridge, there are only a few tourists during the day, but not many overnight guests, but they are working hard together with less manpower. They are also creative with their cooking.
