Our stay at the Rosentalerhof Hotel was all in all great; the rooms were very nice, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was great, and the spa was excellent. The hotel is located right next to the slopes with just a short walk to two lifts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for 10 days and travelling and staying with three mountain bikes was an absolute breeze. Here are some of the highlights: * Apartments are stunning, well sized, thoughtfully designed - we had three good living spaces plus balcony, hallway, two bathrooms. The space and storage was exceptional, the beds were large and comfortable, bathrooms immaculate, kitchen well equipped and the cleaning service every three days quality. There was heating, cooling and windows that could be opened. * Staff are friendly and helpful - from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and everything was taken care of. After a long drive, dinner was easy and checking in and getting settled even easier. Nothing is ever too much trouble. * Excellent facilities - the breakfast, restaurant and shared spaces are welcoming and you feel at home. The pool and outdoor space are lovely and inviting. The car parking is easy and accessible. * Highlight was the ease travelling with bikes - they felt secure in the bike storage area and it was well locked at the evening, the drying cupboards, hooks etc were all very helpful and the bike washing and servicing tools were also very helpful. * Well located for an easy 10-15min walk to town and easy access via car as well. We’d highly recommend this lovely family-run hotel for a comfortable, enjoyable stay at Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

This is our 3rd time staying at Rosentalerhof and I’m confident we’ll never stay anywhere else in Hinterglemm as it gets better every year. Caters for every type of traveller and their service and facilities are second to none. Martin and Andrea are the perfect hosts and know exactly the type of customer they are catering for. Reception/Bar/Restaurant: A lovely casual space where you always get service with a smile. Bar prices aren’t silly hotel prices (the beer is some of the cheapest in resort) and although we’ve only visited in the winter season, I’m looking forward to trying the pool service in the summer. There’s even an indoor soft play for the kids. Rooms: Between our group, we’ve stayed in most of the rooms in the main hotel. All are well equipped, comfortable and have mega hot showers (important after a cold day in the mountains!). They even provide unlimited hair and body wash and hand soap (rather than the usual miniatures most hotels provide) in the bathrooms. The majority have stunning views of the mountains as an added bonus. Food: The half board option that is offered as standard in the winter is exceptional. In 21 evening meals over the last 3 years, I cannot recall a single bad meal. There’s always plenty of salad choice from the buffet and the main course options are always great (the beef cheek and mash this year was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten). If I had to nitpick, although always nice, the desserts aren’t always my first choice, but that’s because I’m greedy and have a sweet tooth. Breakfast isn’t something I can find fault with, however. Plenty of fruit, freshly baked bread, unlimited coffee (of various options) and juices; scrambled egg and bacon, along with a daily choice of different Austrian sausages, boiled eggs, various baked bread….and that’s before even mentioning the plentiful choice of cereals, yoghurt and the incredible homemade Muesli (which is a sort of overnight oats thing that tastes amazing). Oh and not to mention Andrea’s homemade fruit crumble which sometimes appears) Facilities/Amenities: Where to begin…huge heated boot and ski room to dry your stuff every day (even heated drying lockers if stuff is really wet). The heated outdoor pool and sauna/Steam room is a welcome option at the end of the day. There’s a relaxation room and even a separate naked relaxation area if that’s what floats your boat. Lift passes for the mountain can be purchased at reception to save queuing at the lifts and there’s a small gym as well. There’s not much they haven’t thought of and in the summer, its location means it’s right next to the mini golf course and children’s play park. What makes all of this a winning formula is that the hotel’s pricing is extremely reasonable. Although Martin made a conscious decision to not have his hotel officially star rated, you are essentially paying 3* prices for (at least) 4* facilities. Been using this hotel a number of times as a base for a group ski holiday. The hotel is absoultely brilliant, lead by a great couple who own it, down to all members of the staff. Lovely rooms, great spa, lovely bar and restaurant and nothing is too much trouble. Short walk to the T bar lift or the gondola, superb ski area. Great boot room with CCTV. I would highly recommend this hotel to any one of any age.

We returned to the Rosentalerhof for our family skiing holiday this year after a great experience last year. Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a great family friendly resort and really works for our kids aged 10, 14 & 16. We stayed in a really good sized two bed apartment which offers great facilities and plenty of space to either do things together as a family of spend a little time apart from each other. Having eaten a few times in the hotel restaurant last year whilst eating elsewhere a few evenings and doing our own thing for breakfast, we decided to simplify life this year and went for the half board option which did not disappoint. The quality and range of options for breakfast was amazing. Even the fussiest of kids will find something they like and the evening meals were superb. Great quality food and the service by all the staff was outstanding. The hotel facilities themselves are great. Everything has been executed with real thought and attention to detail. Its just a lovely place to spend time, everything just works and it really is a great place to spend time. The spa area is amazing. We used it everyday to unwind after a great day skiing. The heated outdoor pool with fantastic mountain views was great for the kids and adults alike and the sauna, steam room and chill out areas are perfect. The eldest even managed to make use of the gym. Where the Rosentalerhof really excels is the service. It has that attentive, caring family feel with excellent staff that you just don't at larger places and you certainly don't get at corporate chain hotels. We struggle to find fault with it and will definitely be back and can't recommend it highly enough.
