It's close to the station, but I was surprised when I was given just a card and an explanation sheet without being told anything when I checked in.
There is mold on the walls of the room. It might be from the south...
I'm glad there are plenty of drinks.
Apart from the water supply issue in the room, the rest are perfect. The breakfast was good, and the night views from the hotel was spectacular. The water supply in the room was too slow, and I had to go to the public bathroom for brushing teeth. The staff offered to upgrade us to another room, but we don't like the 2 single beds room so we decided to stay in the one King bedroom that we reserved.

The Hotel Sunshine Aoyama is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Himeji will find that the Hotel Sunshine Aoyama is a fantastic accommodation choice. From the hotel, Harima-Takaoka Station is just 4km away. Seeing Himeji's sights from this hotel is easy with Site of Aoyama Old Battlefield, Sun Sports Club Taishi and Aoyama Golf Academy all close by. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings.
The traffic location is OK, relatively close to Himeji Station, and also very close to Himeji City, within the shopping street.
Facilities: Check in before 10 pm, can not be done after the time.
Environment: Generally, it is a space capsule, and the air conditioner is relatively enough.
Service: Service is also available, no Chinese service, English and Japanese can be.
The price is more expensive, after all, Japan.
The location is great, right next to JR. There are also shopping malls and restaurants nearby, and you can reach Himeji Castle in a 10-minute walk.
The breakfast is well received and has a relatively wide variety.
The front desk service attitude is also very good.
The room is tidy and the design is quite fresh. However, there happened to be a small yellow stain on my quilt. It must have been from the previous guest, or it may have been stained and cannot be washed off. Anyway, I felt a little uncomfortable when I saw it.
But overall the price/performance ratio is pretty good~

Outstanding
JJonathan Tak ShingMy wife and I stayed at a Japanese-Style Room with Japanese Cypress Open-Air Bath on the Terrace. The hotel has English speaking staff who was very friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were amazing, and the servers Mr Shiraiwa and Ms Yamaguchi provided excellent services. This is one of the best onsen ryokans we have experienced, and we look forward to returning.
GGuest UserWow, this was our first time staying at a Dormy and we loved it. We've stayed at other business hotels, and Dormy has been the best this far. The roof top onsen was great, very clean with lots of personal care products to use. They offer free ice cream (popsicles after onsen 🤤) and ramen in the evening, and free yakult in the morning. The room size is economical, bit larger than other business hotels we stayed in.
Parking is not free, it's 1300 a night (if there's space). If it matters, the pajamas they provide are not visually appealing, though they are comfortable (a shirt and pants, both using synthetic sweat wicking (think athletic wear) fabrics).
GGuest UserGreat hotel close to the station. We got a room with view on himeji castle. We did expect a bit more of the breakfast compared to similar priced hotels where we stayed in Japan
EErlingsanDecent hotel walking distance from Himeji train station and Himeji castle.
Check in was smooth, they offered the usual free coffee/tea/lemon water. We asked for a second blanket, which was no problem for the staff.
The rooms are the usual Japanese business hotel style. The “normal” room, has semi double bed, which would seem a bit small for Western travellers, especially if you are big. But this you should know already, if you ever travelled to Japan.
The breakfast was decent [see picture], and the heating was working well.
GGuest UserPerfect for a night or two next to the train station!
Everything is clean, they provide earplugs for the night but it's not even that noisy after a certain point. Capsules are rather big with everything one might desire (power plugs, TV, fan, adjustable light, locker)
I would book again!
AAlashanmengIt's an 8-minute walk from the JR station. The proprietress is enthusiastic and has a good family atmosphere. It's surrounded by commercial streets. It's very close to Himeji Old Town and a 5-minute walk. It's suitable for solo travel.
AAnonymous UserOverall it's pretty good, very convenient, very close to JR Himeji Station. There are Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, which makes communication more convenient. It's very comfortable to soak in the hot springs, and there is also a microwave in the room, which is practical! However, the sound insulation of the hotel is really average, so friends who sleep lightly are better off bringing earplugs.
GGuest UserIt's close to the station and has a hot spring and sauna on the top floor.
It's a low-temperature sauna that even sauna beginners can use, so it was easy to get in.
I stayed on the 7th floor and the view was great.
You can even see the Shinkansen from some rooms!
The noise from the next room is a bit annoying, but it's not a problem.
Dinner and breakfast are included for free.
Even if you don't have dinner, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, so it's not a problem.
Breakfast is a buffet, so you can have as much as you like of whatever you like, which is great.
I'd like to stay here again.
GGuest UserNice hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. They went out their way to make my stay enjoyable. A couple of guys at reception spoke great English. Great roof terrace with view of castle. 500 yen to use a well equipped gymn about 60m from the hotel. Slept well here.
GGuest UserThe hot spring was spacious, and the room was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast also had a wide variety and was very satisfying.
The accommodation fee was also reasonable, and overall it was very good.
I would like to use it again.
