We had a great time at the safari park resort and the safari park itself was incredible. There was just so much to do that we could easily have had a few more days. There were 11 of us and we stayed in a group lodge, which has so much potential however we wouldn’t return as the accommodation just wasn’t clean enough. We had ants in the lodge, dead ones on arrival and 30 or so crawling everywhere which caused us issues during our stay as we had 3 babies crawling round. Guest services put down ant poison after I asked twice for it to be done, but there was no further cleaning and the ants took another three days to go. The cleanliness throughout the lodge was sub par - there were lots of hairs, the bins in the kitchen were disgusting, there were no fans in the bathrooms so it was very muggy and there were moths in two of the bathrooms too. I told guest services about the moths on three occasions but nothing was done about it. A great experience and we loved the park but if we came again I would choose different local accommodation. Maybe closer to Efteling and do a day trip to the safari park.

This is an amazing place to stay. We stayed in a Savannah Lodge looking out over the ‘Serengeti Savannah’ and saw ostrich, camel and the odd rhinoceros from our lodge. The lodge was spacious and well equipped. The children loved it! The safari park and zoo are impressive. We did it by boat, car and foot and definitely saw the most on foot. The wider facilities are pleasant and modern. Only downsides are that the pool is quite small and restaurants are expensive. We ate in the lodge mostly after eating at the buffet restaurant at the Safari hotel and paying a large bill! The shop is quite small so you may want to stock up elsewhere is you’re staying more than a night or so. You can use the facilities at the Lake resort as well but it is a 30 min walk or 10 min drive so just factor that in if you plan to go! But we had a brilliant stay!

We saved up to stay two nights at Beekse Bergen as a family treat. The concept of staying in a beautiful lodge “in the heart of the savannah” with animals parading about in the back garden was so exciting. We loved receiving a welcome pack through the post before setting off from the UK, with stickers and info about the animals, that was a really nice touch. Sadly, it was a huge let down. The accomodation was absolutely filthy, stains all over the sofa, stains and marks all over the walls, bird poo that seemed to be on the inside of the window (?!), fingerprints all over the doors and windows, spiders and spiderwebs throughout, ants nests right by the door, other people's hairs on furniture and on the floor, a drip of blood down the wall (!)… A very friendly member of staff gave us free pizza and moved us to another (only mildly cleaner) lodge, however blamed the dirt and disrepair on other guests and said "people on holiday don't treat holiday homes like their own”. This second lodge didn’t have a hair dryer, bin or kettle but we were too tired to complain further. Unfortunately, although the concept of the resort is unbelievably special, the execution has a lot to be desired. To add, the provided information isn't ideal, and the app needs work. No option to book a vegetarian breakfast, and it’s so difficult to see how to order pizza on the app! It also wasn't clear what our reservation included; it said the attraction pass gave us unlimited access to a handful of attractions but still after leaving I'm not sure what or where they were, even after searching the website numerous times. No response via email even though I tried numerous times, and when asking at the hotel reception what they recommended we see, one staff member just shrugged and said “good question”. And, while I’m at it (!), is it just me thinking the buffet dinner is overpriced at €36.50 from age 12 up, and €20 from 3-11 years old? If you are a family with two young children (who barely eat anything), it’d be €113 without drinks - and you have to watch out, even the water is €6.50. Oof.

We visited in June as a family of 4 a 4 year old and 22 month old. I was a little apprehensive to start with not knowing what to expect and also some mixed reviews especially regarding the cleanliness of the accommodation. The holiday it was amazing and one of our best holidays to date. We stayed in a savannah lodge and looked out over zebra, rhinos, ostrich and giraffes. We had a feeding station outside our property and it was great to just sit and watch the animals. We also visited the other animals on the resort, the lions and seals. We went to watch the lions being fed which the children loved. We took our bikes and found cycling around between the different resorts really easy and you don’t need to go on the main roads. The pools are great and the lake resort pool is slightly bigger with more slides. We did the car, boat and walking safari at the safari park and you easily need a couple of days there to see everything. I would say it is the best safari park I’ve been to. There is a gate from the resort into the safari park so you can just walk in during opening times which is nice. We went to speelands one day and enjoyed the rides and the lakes. On our first night we ordered a pizza delivery which we were able to go via the app on our way. It was easy abd good to know we’d all get some food. All in all we had a really magical holiday, I love South Africa and feel it was the best alternative with 2 young children to reallly get the feel for the wildlife. We will definitely return . Our property was adequately cleaned if I was being really picky it could have been slightly better with regards to hoovering but everything else was clean. The outside of the property is dusty so it is going to get blown/trodden in. The bathrooms are well done and a big bath. You have a hoover so can easily run this around if you don’t like cobwebs. We had a couple of things broken when we arrived one being the travel cot these were sorted really quickly.

Fabulous Safari Park and Resort. The zoo element is wonderful. Extremely well set out. Great access to see the animals. The lack of ostensible cages and fences means that one feels close to all the creatures. They all look healthy and well cared for.

I'm not sure how I stumbled across Beekse Bergen but I looked to go in the summer time but the prices rose and I was left deflated at the thought of another expensive school holiday. A week before our February half term we found the lodges were reduced, so we chose Savannah Lodge 431 to be next to the facilities and overlooking the animals. We travelled in a family of 4 with an 18 month old and 5 year old. From our Lodge we saw ostriches, camels. Zudus, zebras and rhinos daily. The giraffes however were on the otherside so the picture of what animals you could see was a bit misleading in that respect. No complaints here though the lodge was stunning, underfloor heating so always a nice temperature, good facilities for the toddler with a high chair and cot already in place. We loved the sauna and used it daily. We were a 10 minute walk to the safari park and did the car, boat and walked safari. Car safari was great the giraffe are very friendly and we appreciated the english audio tour you can play on the app. The boat safari was a bit disappointing didn't see much and couldn't understand the lady speaking. We visited the etsi pool at the lake resort and facilities were great. Good system in thr changing rooms and something for both kids in the pool area to play with. We played bowling on the last night which I thought was a little overpriced, 25 euros for all of us. We sadly didn't have time to use the kids ranger activities so can't comment on that. Overall it felt really quiet (I think the kids half term is different to us brits) so we really enjoyed our experience. We've already scoped out what would be a better Lodge for us for next time!

We stayed in a Boomhut & woke up to giraffes & zebras wandering around in front of us & seals splashing around behind us. What an absolutely amazing stay! Very friendly, informative staff. So many different ways to see the Safari, walking, bus, car & boat. Great swimming pool over in the Lake Resort too & a fun morning spent in Speelland!

I totally agree with Daan: cottages too warm and, absolutely, not cleaned. Lots of dust and remains of previous guests under the beds. A bit of a shame, because the park, swimming pool, restaurants and other facilities are fine. It is our t****th visit and 2x the same experience

We drove all the way from Belgium to the Beekse Bergen to give our children a safari experience. Never again! The lodges are dirty, filthy, greasy and dusty! Even our 4 year old son said: 'mom it's really dirty here there are cobwebs everywhere. ' We had booked from 31/7 to 2/8, but we just went home the same day. Furthermore, it was 30 degrees inside while it was 24 degrees outside. So we went to the reception, they were going to send the cleaning crew over again and have the technical service come and take a look at the heat. The cleaning crew had been over but probably not longer than 5 minutes. There was still a lot of dust and dirt. The reception called us that the technical service had come and took a look and that everything was fine. It is a known problem because the sun shines on the houses and heats them up. The website therefore contains incorrect information. It says there is a climate control that can cool the room by 3 degrees, which was not the case at all. Our conclusion was to go home, our 1.5 year old son could not sleep at all because of the heat. He sweats, looks red and can only cry. A last attempt to get something done in terms of compensation or something was also a waste of time, you got the answer: 'yes there is no air conditioning and we can't offer you anything else at the moment. We have no control over the heat and if you go home it is your choice and we can't do anything' They will never see us again and don't recommend this to anyone!
