This is a beautiful, cozy, rustic blend of mountains and sophistication nestled in the woods on the edge of Downtown Highlands! The property has nice areas for walking around to enjoy the fresh mountain air with a nice lily pond to sit for a while, as you walk to the downtown area of Highlands We enjoyed the private patio area, sipping our coffee watching the sun rise over Highlands. In evenings we sat by the fire pit, watched the sunset, enjoying some music and relaxation after a day of hiking, enjoying the waterfalls, shops, art galleries, restaurants and the Dahlias Festival going on in town was an added treat. The Highlands area has something for everyone to enjoy… Trailborn Highlands makes it even more memorable!

After looking online at many alternatives in Cashiers & Highlands, we chose the Trailborn Inn for a short getaway for our 40th anniversary. The friendly staff and various amenities made our stay enjoyable. We hiked and visited waterfalls.

Amazing experience! Staff was friendly and inviting when we checked in. Had a room with a fireplace the just made it really cozy on a cold day. Will definitely return and recommend to other who are staying in the Highlands. Thanks again for the great weekend!

Great place to stay! Attentive to our needs and a great staff. Clean, cute and comfortable. We needed a quick place to stay, and we found a place that exceeded our expectations. We will make this place a go-to again. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

We just got back from a three night stay at Trailborn Highlands. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which was very spacious and a great layout. Good to know: -Includes a very light complimentary breakfast of yogurt and cereal -About a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. You have to walk across a main road to go into town, but it was not an issue Pros: -Staff were friendly and helpful. We had an electrical issue and they promptly sent maintenance to fix it and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for the trouble. -It's newly renovated, very pretty and clean Cons: -We did not find the mattress and pillows very comfortable - could have just been personal preference -There was an exterior surround speaker right outside our room and it was playing music we think 24x7 - we were just inside from the fire pit area so I'm thinking the music was for that area to enjoy -Our room was right inside from the fire pit area and it smelled very strongly of smoke form the fire pits on our first night

Hotel is clean and well kept. Staff are friendly & knowledgeable. Room are comfortable except for the bathroom, taking a shower could be a little bit messy due to the shower has a small door. The lounge area is comfortable with a lot board games & some books.

Great stay. Rooms were large and bed was comfortable. Fly fishing excursion was amazing. 100% recommend it! We love Highlands area and this new hotel with all its amenities was a true find. Staff were great and really accommodating. We’ll be back.

Beautiful atmosphere and overall design that converted a mundane lodge into something special. Great location within a couple minute walk of downtown. Mattresses should be more comfortable - perhaps add toppers. Other suggestions: irons/ironing boards and microwaves, ingredients for S’Mores for fire pits.

Excellent. The hotel was "fresh". Very comfortable - great colors, lighting, decor, firepit, sitting area, porch, etc. The staff was very courteous. Great location that is convenient to walk to downtown, yet maintains privacy. Also the hotel is not huge - large enough to offer many amenities and extras, yet small enough to not feel crowded.
