I stayed only one night in a 2 room suite. The room was quiet and comfortable. Each room had its own AC/heating unit and they both worked well. The free WiFi was very fast. Although I did not use the feature, you can log into one of your streaming accounts and watch it on their TV. The bed was fairly comfortable but the mattress had apparently been used for quite some time because there was a distinct depression on its right side from a lot of people sleeping there. The shower worked well but their lemon sage shampoo had a pungent smell and made my scalp sting. Having a balcony is always a nice feature. Front desk staff and the gentleman at their Bistro were all very pleasant. I had a burger and fries from the Bistro for dinner and they honestly were both quite awful. Overall, the overnight stay was quiet and comfortable and the property was kept in good shape.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Evanston for my daughter’s 7th birthday, along with our younger daughter who is 5. We wanted to stay somewhere that had a pool, restaurants/shops/nightlife accessible and also close access to the beach. We found all of this when we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn! I really can’t say enough great things about this hotel. First: the location. It’s situated one block away from downtown Evanston, one of the best neighborhoods in the state of IL. There are limitless things to do and places to eat with the kids. Second: the hotel staff. They were so kind and accommodating! Cathy at the front desk knew it was my daughters birthday, wished her a happy birthday, and gave both my daughters a free treat to celebrate. There was always a staff member around to help, from someone servicing the pool to the guy that helped me get complimentary coffee in the lobby. Just a pleasure! They were so helpful and happy to help, I got the sense of being part of one big family while we were staying there. Third: the room. It was so clean with so many thoughtful component included to make our stay more comfortable. The were communications posted throughout the room notifying us of when/how the room was sanitized. All the complimentary toiletries were upscale and there was enough for my whole family. There’s just so many positive things about this hotel, a true gem, if you are looking for something in this area, it’s everything you are looking for and more.

This is the first time our family has had a long-term hotel stay. We are one week in and I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience here! We have a 2-bed, 2-bath suite that very much feels like a home. I wish they had these everywhere we travel. I assume it has been renovated, but the updates were done well, especially the bathrooms. I have interacted with staff members from the front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping, and they have all been exceptional. Any small issue has been quickly taken care of in a kind, friendly manner. The place felt clean upon arrival and housekeeping did a fantastic job making it feel so fresh again on cleaning day. Oh, and everyone has been properly masked. There is a coin laundry, which I would prefer something that takes a card, but it gets the job done. Breakfast is limited, of course, but very well organized. This place is a perfect mix of old-school hospitality with some modern elements. The layout feels like a little village and even the other guests have been very friendly. I’m so, so glad we decided to go with Residence Inn due to location instead of our original Airbnb plan. I would drive even further to stay here. With the popularity of Airbnb, Marriott should really consider investing even more in this hotel model!

Except for expensive, others are quite good. Breakfast is average, but this Western-style hotel, we are not used to eating is also normal. When I first arrived, I went to the restaurant in the hotel's atrium and ate a lunch. I didn't expect it to be quite pleasant. The price was real, the service attitude was good, and the taste was not bad. The only drawback is that I don't think there are a few chairs in the hotel entrance. It is not convenient to stand at the door when waiting for the car.

The service experience of the whole Trip.com is very poor; help the boss customer book the hotel, the front desk informs the room that there is no payment, and the customer credit card directly swipes the card; half a month later, the credit card money was repeatedly deducted; fortunately, I took the accommodation order and could explain it clearly; Contact Ctrip to ask me to provide a certificate. After finally finding the certificate, I experienced three consecutive days of different customers' phone contact. The matter was still not resolved. Ctrip did not explain from beginning to end why the money did not pay the hotel, and did not explain how to compensate. What is the reason for compensation? As a result, my company could not be reimbursed, and the money could not be refunded; the whole process of check-in and booking experience was very poor; as a loyal fan of Trip.com, I was really disappointed; First of all, there is no timeliness in handling complaints, and it is not clear what the customer wishes. Different customer service calls are bombed in turn, and none can be patted; second, from beginning to end, there is no error in which link, and no compensation according to the breach; Obviously, for customer capitalism, we can't retreat if we don't live, there is no room for moderation; but Trip.com is wrong, I'm sorry to solve it, and the double standard behavior of our own revolutionaryism is extremely bad! Originally thought that I was a platinum customer, the complaint will be handled more promptly, but there is no difference at all, so there is no difference between booking Trip.com, Tongcheng, and Encore, no matter your membership level is high or low; Therefore, it is recommended that you do not put the dishes in a basket, if there are cheap ones, you can find cheap ones, and the expensive ones may not be good. If there is a problem, it will avoid the weight, and the compensation that should be borne will not be responsible for itself; The customer service also said: Why didn't you call us Trip.com at that time, we will deal with it immediately, meaning that the customer did not contact you, you are not right, the responsibility is with you, hearing this is really fainted on the spot; The time difference between China and the United States, I booked a hotel, and I have to pay attention at any time. I don’t pay attention. I have to be on duty 24 hours a day like a Trip.com employee... How can this customer service be on duty... Commission Ctrip earns, you have to do things, you don’t do it is your fault! To the extreme!

Girls on lobby are amazing)

Decided to stay here last minute rather than risk violating Chicago’s curfew (9:00 p.m.). Reviewed their website before booking and was impressed by their protocol for addressing cleaning COVID-19 issues — touchless check in, etc. I booked online but directly with IHG (not through a third-party) and payed full price. Wearing a face covering, I at the property and found that none of the claims on their website re: COVID-19 protocols were true. No touchless checkin. Two women were working the small reception area — neither one wore a mask. And, although they had my information from my reservation / booking, they required me to fill out two forms while they were some two to three feet away. It was after 11:00 p.m. and searching another hotel at that hour presented other risks. So, I stayed — hoping for the best. Didn’t notice a single precaution in the room. I could go on but you get the point. As I walked into the lobby to check out the next morning (again, wearing a mask), I asked the woman working at reception what their policy was re: face coverings. She looked at and me and assured me that, yes, they were face coverings — as she pulled one from her face and put it on. NOTE: I am not writing this review to be critical of the individuals I encountered working at the property. They are trying to get by like everyone else. The problem here is that the policies advertised on the website either don’t exist or aren’t properly implemented / enforced.

Hotel location is OK, the room is very comfortable, clean, the front desk service is very good, there is a 24-hour public coffee supply in the lobby on the first floor. The breakfast is quite rich in the American style, very warm.
