Property Description
Why not escape the crowds and indulge in the seasonal flavors of the sea, while immersing yourself in the soothing steam of the hot springs? Come and enjoy a rejuvenating stay in Atagawa. This fall, *Izu Retreat Atagawa Suikou* is set to reopen after a full renovation, under the concept of "Nostalgic Luxury."
One of the signature features of the renovation is a suite room transformed from the former large communal bath area. The suite includes a spacious open-air bath of approximately 20 square meters, installed directly in the guestroom. Taking inspiration from the former bustling bathhouse, the design retains the expansive sense of openness, providing a luxurious experience where guests can unwind while enjoying stunning views of the ocean.
In addition, every guestroom is equipped with its own private open-air bath featuring natural hot spring water, allowing guests to fully embrace the distinctive charm of Atagawa, a seaside onsen getaway, complemented by the relaxing sound of the waves.
Accessible in just about two hours from Tokyo via the Odoriko limited express train, the hotel is conveniently located only a 10-minute walk from Izu-Atagawa Station.

Fantastic service from the beginning to checking out! They are super attentive to your needs and everything provided was very personalised. I love it that the onsent resort is very private and it seems like they mostly served local tourist. The ocean view was absolutely stunning and it was a perfect stay! I would definitely come back again.

The view can be said to be the best hotel in Izu Peninsula. The food is also good. Hot spring town, hotel on the valley. There is almost nothing to eat outside. The service is good.

The service was very good from the beginning, there were many kinds of food, and the taste was acceptable. Private baths are charged, but I felt that the water was not very clean. The weather was not very good, so the experience was discounted.

This is the best hotel for this trip to Japan, and it is also the hotel with the best value for money. I will stay here for a few more days if I have the chance. The hotel is on a cliff by the sea, with new facilities and a sense of design. The rooms, restaurant and hot springs are decorated and arranged very carefully. All of them are sea view rooms, and the windows are large floor-to-ceiling glass, with an unobstructed view of the sea view, which is very enjoyable. The restaurant's breakfast and dinner ingredients are fresh, and the ingredients and plating are very particular. The main focus is on seafood, and the portions are full. The staff is warm, thoughtful and meticulous in their service. The hotel also provides free shuttle bus service from Atagawa Station to the hotel. It is a very cost-effective hotel, highly recommended

The room is a bit old but big enough to see the sea. The dinner was good. We arrived a bit late but still received warmly.

If you go to Izu, choose to stay in Atagawa. It is very convenient to go to Izu Plateau and Izukyu-Shimoda. The Atagawa Onsen has an unbeatable sea view. The breakfast and dinner are delicious and different every day. The service is also very good.

The hotel is in Izu Atagawa. The town is not big and there is only one Family Mart. You can buy snacks in advance. There is a small shop on the first floor of the hotel and a vending machine for instant noodles on the third floor.
The hotel checks in at 15:00 and checks out at 10:00. Is this the rule for most Japanese hot spring hotels? 😃
There are Chinese service staff every day, but English communication is no problem.
The ingredients are fresh and don’t feel dried...😯, black diamond users rarely comment, just happened to be there on the 24th, the picture below is the dinner that day, the hotel has some problems, but it is generally good.

The traditional Japanese-style room, although the facilities are relatively old, is generally well maintained, but remember to close the doors and windows as there are many bugs at night. Breakfast and dinner were good, but the hotel is located on the top of a mountain. Apart from hot spring baths and two meals, there are no other activities. Atagawa is also a relatively small place with not many places to visit.
