IORI IchinoMachi Hida Furukawa is a peaceful, traditional Japanese house, with modern comforts and a great location just as described. Shingo totally made our stay amazing. He is responsive and was a wonderful support before and during our stay . We did a hike up Mt. Anbo and he helped us by ensuring we took the right track, we even sent him photos when we reached the start as the sign was in Japanese. I did you use my google translate but it was reassuring to have Shingo confirm immediately back to us that we were on the right path. Shingo also assisted with booking restaurants and organising meals at the property. Note, this is an extremely quiet town. There are only a few restaurants and even they look close. I suspect they only open if they receive a booking. Without Shingo our stay wouldn't have been so smooth. The property is located on the beautiful Setogawa canals. I could have hung out for a week just chilling out. Some people would get bored but to me this was the Japan I had hoped for. It had the temples and canals etc minus the crowds. We went to the Takayama spring festival (April) for a full long day but decided not to go back as we loved where we were staying to deal with Takayama and the crowds again. It is very close to the train station and a flat walk but shingo did pick us up on arrival as it was a little rainy. I would highly recommend this property. Out of 8 properties & locations we visited this was my favourite.
