We stayed at The Royal Hotel recently so we could attend the local Morecambe Prom Parkrun. The hotel is in a lovely location with picturesque scenery and lots of lovely walks around. The hotel was spotless and clean (modern) I could not fault it, we booked in for a meal in the pub and the food was amazing (you have to have the steak) we will definitely be back for more. The staff were absolutely fantastic, Maddie who looked after us was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and we really appreciated this. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. I would highly recommend and we will 100% be back in the summer for sunny views rather than snowy.

We visited the Royal for a late lunch today, following a walk along the cliff tops in Heysham. The food, atmosphere and service were faultless and we would highly recommend this to anyone who fancies delicious, beautifully prepared food which is a cut above the average without being in any way pretentious. I had the best fish and chips ever ( equal to the Magpie in Whitby) and my partner had the steak and ale pie which was a proper home made, stand alone pie with a rich beery gravy and delicious carrots and crispy kale. We couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, so ordered Tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding with our coffees and they were equally wonderful. The chef really knows what they are doing and hasn’t been tempted to over complicate any of the dishes. The prices are not low, but are absolutely fair, given the quality of the ingredients and cooking. We will definitely be back and would love to spend the night next time. 10/10

Food was excellent and good value for money all considered, mitchellen star food it's not but good hearty food it is. Not quite sure about a large glass of wine costing me £11, not a place I will be getting drunk in. I ordered the lasagne and my partner ordered the steak n ale pie, both where nice, plenty of filling in the pie as well, we had creme caramel deserts to follow as, as long as you ordered at least 2 course we got 25% off, all in all a great experience

We called in at The Royal this evening (May 30th) on our way to Heysham Ferry Terminal. We have been on a few occasions for a meal and a couple of drinks and once again received the best service and a warm welcome. In particular a big thank you to Dominic is necessary for his accommodating, helpful treatment of us at a late hour and his endless patience. All the staff at The Royal are excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody, Jay & Wendy.

The room was a bit small and had no fridge. There was no milk in the room we had to go to reception which could only be located by going outside into the street. Apart from those points the bed was very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Went to The Royal for food with my family. Been quite a few times now and always a good meal. Even though it was busy didnt feel rushed or forgotten. Would visit again. And of course i need to mention Kyle the man that served us he was the perfect server he was nice definitely give him 5 stars.

Last minute booking for an overnight stop en route to Scotland. Everything was perfect about our stay from the member of staff who assisted with my reservation to our checkout after the most delicious breakfast. The room was very nicely decorated, spacious and had so many thoughtful touches - White Company toiletries (and pillow spray!), Lavazza coffee machine and a good selection of teas as well as some biscuits. We had dinner in the beer garden, delicious pizza and enjoyed a relaxing evening there with our two dogs. Every single member of staff we encountered during our short stay was friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We called yesterday afternoon for a couple of drinks during the lovely weather…. We initially sat at the outside bar and the venue is lovely and service efficient, then after seeing copious amounts of food pass out table decided to go inside for a meal to finish the day off, we were met by a young girl called Jessica who couldn’t do enough to accommodate us, her service was efficient and informative, food arrived quickly and was lovely we highly recommended this venue to anyone in the area
