We stayed at The Royal Hotel recently so we could attend the local Morecambe Prom Parkrun. The hotel is in a lovely location with picturesque scenery and lots of lovely walks around. The hotel was spotless and clean (modern) I could not fault it, we booked in for a meal in the pub and the food was amazing (you have to have the steak) we will definitely be back for more. The staff were absolutely fantastic, Maddie who looked after us was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and we really appreciated this. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. I would highly recommend and we will 100% be back in the summer for sunny views rather than snowy.

We visited the Royal for a late lunch today, following a walk along the cliff tops in Heysham. The food, atmosphere and service were faultless and we would highly recommend this to anyone who fancies delicious, beautifully prepared food which is a cut above the average without being in any way pretentious. I had the best fish and chips ever ( equal to the Magpie in Whitby) and my partner had the steak and ale pie which was a proper home made, stand alone pie with a rich beery gravy and delicious carrots and crispy kale. We couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, so ordered Tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding with our coffees and they were equally wonderful. The chef really knows what they are doing and hasn’t been tempted to over complicate any of the dishes. The prices are not low, but are absolutely fair, given the quality of the ingredients and cooking. We will definitely be back and would love to spend the night next time. 10/10

Food was excellent and good value for money all considered, mitchellen star food it's not but good hearty food it is. Not quite sure about a large glass of wine costing me £11, not a place I will be getting drunk in. I ordered the lasagne and my partner ordered the steak n ale pie, both where nice, plenty of filling in the pie as well, we had creme caramel deserts to follow as, as long as you ordered at least 2 course we got 25% off, all in all a great experience

We had a very pleasant evening at the Royal, a relaxed atmosphere even though the staff were working hard. The chef put together a great and different menu, which we thoroughly enjoyed, the food was hot, as described and delicious, the chairs extremely comfortable, and the staff chatty without being intrusive. Recommended.

Excellent service, especially from Phil Ashton. Attentive, courteous pleasant and polite at all times made us very welcome and always does. The food as always was lovely as was the atmosphere recommended. Lovely location clean and tidy.

Waited over 20 minutes for 2 coffees ordered at the bar which did not arrive. The manager, Marcus, did not give out a receipt for payment as a matter of course. I had run out of waiting time and so never received my coffees, nor did Marcus provide me with a refund. I was unable to trace the email addresses online for the new General Manager, Will Kitchen, nor the directors of this establishment. I gave a suggestion to Marcus that the directors of the Royal at Heysham consider arranging for their staff to give out paper receipts for customer advance payments in future. Along with consideration for the staff at the Royal at Heysham to give out a warning at time of the customer orders hot drinks, if there are going to be long/never occurring lead times. This is so that the customers can consider if they wish to make alternative arrangements and go elsewhere with their custom. Unfortunately, this is by no means the first time for me that there have been excessively long waits for drinks at this establishment and prompting has been needed.

Excellent as always came for Sunday lunch with family and very busy. Lovely friendly atmosphere food and service 5 star cannot fault it. Looking forward to trying out the new menu. The staff are good polite-full and helpful. Decent size portions of food and nice and hot.

Love coming here so cosy and welcoming. The waitress Jessica was lovely and moved us to another table with no bother. Lovely food and wel be back as always. Sunday lunch is highly recommended, and the Garlic mushrooms for starters set the main off.
