The hotel is old with apparent long-term residents. I'm confident you understand that element. Check-in was interesting...however, after some smiles and kindness the lady checking me in warmed up. Initially, it seemed like I was bothering her. My room is FINE...traditional old-school motel layout. Does have a flatscreen with good channels, microwave, small fridge. It is an older hotel. Furnishings are dated, but functional. My biggest complaint is this: In 48 years of staying in hotels and being a Level 22 hotel reviewer on Tripadvisor - I have NEVER walked into a room that smelled this strong of sanitizer/air fresnher and artificial scent - I am talking - it smelled like someone took a can of Glade and sprayed it directly in my face - you could literally taste it. I appreciate cleanliness, but I have never smelled anything this strong before. My eyes are watering and my sinuses are stuffed up...and that is after having the back window, front window, and front door open for three hours to try and air it out. Someone needs to train the housekeeping staff that fragrance, air ”fresheners” are actually carcinogens that cause health problems and disease. I would stay again because it is a budget hotel with low rates and functional application - but, I would call ahead and request a room that had been aired out or no freshners used. Honestly, I have never experienced anything like this...it is overpowering and not healthy at all.

Pros: great customer service, dog friendly, close to fwy, easy to park/enter room, affordable, free breakfast, pool, microwave and fridge, 10% off at Perkins and the pub next door. Also, the vending machines were reasonably priced. Cons: smelly room, cleanliness questionable, and a room that had a phone that wasn’t just missing some buttons, but its cord was completely cut! Made me wonder what happened in the room before! You get what you pay for. Not a bad stay, but if the rooms were cleaner, fridge didn’t have iffy gunk in the ice box part, and fully operational equipment, I would be more likely to stay here again. We were originally given a smoking room, which of course reeked, and had the same level of cleanliness. I went back to the front desk to ask for a room that didn’t smell like smoke, and was told that it appeared that I selected a smoking room, so not sure if management wants to reach out to booking.com and see if their website messed that up. I checked my receipts and confirmation emails and only noticed my request for a pet friendly room. The girl at the front desk was very nice and changed my room with no hassle. Overall, it’s not a bad place to stay, especially if traveling with pets. Note: the photos I posted have our long phone chargers in the background. The cut wire is what my husband was holding up for the camera, towards the bottom of the photo.

Everything was amazing. I only docked the cleanliness because the garbage can outside the elevator on the 2nd floor was overflowing for at least 12 hours and it stunk like bad Chinese food
