I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for other guests in the future.

I stayed at Baleia de Hermanus for the first time in early December of 2024. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were neat and clean. The staff also organised an earlier-than-usual breakfast for me as I had to leave early for a golf tournament - this was much appreciated. I look forward to revisiting this quaint and inviting guesthouse in the near future.

Lovely place to stay, excellent breakfast. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Short walk to all the restaurants and shops which are plentiful. Rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. Would highly recommend this establishment

Basic structure, the rooms are quite cold with only a small heated plate near the bed. There is also a heated blanket. The very large bathroom has no heating. Minimal breakfast, a little salty and little sweet. It is not possible to have an espresso or short coffee, only the cup of American coffee. The internal parking is useful and allows you to keep your car safe. The restaurant area is not far away but as it is dark at 6pm it is best not to venture out on foot.

Friendly welcome, very spacious room with all necessities. There is a nice courtyard with a swimming pool where you can sit comfortably in the summer (now it was a bit too cold for that). The breakfast was tasty. If you ask for information about the region, it will be happily provided. It is within walking distance of the center of Hermanus, so you can leave the car at home.
