Oh dear. How to best describe this "experience" without sounding rude? Okay, let's start with the good bits, which lifted the review back up from the one star I felt like giving at one point. The breakfast buffet is GREAT. Better than in any five star hotel I visited. The rooms are large. Some of the staff are A) competent B) helpful and C) friendly. A few even tick all the boxes. Spa area is perfectly okay, especially the sauna looking over the lake. Great parking, free of cost. Otherwise, the receptionist was confused, confusing and hard to understand. Yes, he was a learner, but still. There is no signage whatsoever inside the hotel and given the confusing building set up, it's not easy to work out where to go.Fortunately, a friendly staff member was able to explain things. Arrival is not until 4PM.Okay, that can happen. What can't and mustn't happen is that one room of two then hasn't been done - and the cleaning staff in doing all the other rooms in the corridor first. Soggy mattresses which should havebeen replaced ages ago are a no-no. No wine card in a four star hotel is beyond no-no. The (visibly bored) waiter when askedfor the wine card esponded with "Red, white, or rose?" We said we wanted a wine card. He repeated his mantra.Only then did he deign to explain there were no wine cards. Only carafes. Needless to say, the wine was undrinkable. We wanted to eat a-la-carte, which is possible, although the selection is limited.The selection was even more limited, because a couple of items on the menu were "not available". Pardon? When even the dessert wasn't available (the freezer had broken, which can happen) even the bored waiter was embarrassed. The kitchen then created a special dessert , which wasn't put on the menu. That is actually great customer service. Upon checking out we faced more complications, none of which were a disaster- just too many niggly things that can happen once in a while even if they shouldn't. One or two are normal. Karma. All of it taken together is a sign of a house in trouble.

Es war alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Das Zimmer war sauber und hell. Vom Balkon hatten wir einen schönen Blick zum See. Das Restaurant ist ansprechend gestaltet.

Sehr gut, kann ich nur empfehlen. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich habe eine Knoblauchallergie, und es wurde auf der Speisekarte markiert, was ich essen kann. Es wurden sogar Speisen extra für mich zubereitet.

Wir werden gerne wiederkommen. Da wir sehr ruhebedürftig waren, hatten wir zuerst Bedenken,weil das Zimmer direkt zum Spielplatz ausgerichtet war, was sicher eine junge Familie eher gefreut hätte. Zum" Glück"war das Wetter in den nächsten Tagen kühl und trübe, dadurch wurde der Spielplatz kaum benutzt und wir konnten die Ruhe der Situation geniessen.Da mein Mann in seiner Gehfähigkeit eingeschränkt ist, konnten wir das Zimmer auch nicht für längere Wanderungen verlassen. so passte es also alles...auch dass der Zimmerservice nur bei Bedarf angefordert werden konnte war uns sehr Recht.

wellness und das Sauerland ein bisschen kennen zu lernen. Leider hatten wir nicht so viel Zeit haben uns aber Brilon und Korbach angeschaut. Beide mit einer sehr schönen Altstadt. Das Hotel selbst bietet ein sehr umfangreiches Frühstück und ein sehr schönes abwechslungsreiches Abendessen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Schönes Hotel, Frühstück und Essen sehr gut. Beim Frühstück eine sehr große Vielfalt. Beim Abendessen verschiedene Themenabende. Alles sehr lecker und eine gute Auswahl.
