Premier Inn Hereford Holmer

Worst Premier Inn I've stayed at by a way. I travel around the UK white a lot and always choose a Premier Inn as the standards are consistently good and I know what I'm getting, which makes trips simpler. This was massively below expected standards, main issues for me: - First room I checked into smelt like something had died in there, I couldn't stay more than 30 seconds or so as it was so pungent - The room I was moved to had no working heating, not ideal in December - The room itself needed refurbishing about 20+ years ago, bathroom was awful (no heater, mirror completely fogged up, shower was in a bath with a curtain and minute, USB plugs all broken, hairdryer very difficult to use as the plug was too far from the mirror and no lighting) - Food in the restaurant was poor microwave meal standard and £13-15, breakfast was better but still poor and the layout meant getting to and from the buffet was problematic - Restaurant is in what looks like an abandoned pub across the road from the Premier Inn, with no signage, that would be an easy fix to make it clearer where people need to go for food. I would say the staff were very good and were doing their very best with the rubbish surroundings they had to work with. In both the restaurant and the hotel they were friendly and efficient, even if they did look overworked. Help them out a bit Premier Inn?

Worse Premier Inn we have stayed at. At time of booking no mention of Hotel going through upgrade, a bit naughty we thought. Only received an email day before check in, informing us of upgrade being done. The new dining area in Hotel is not ready yet, so still using old building. Not a welcoming area. Went for evening meal, found out it was a reduced menu and no draught beer, only bottles, which we were charged £19 for four small bottles of lager (two Heineken and two Peroni) well overpriced in my opinion. Room had faulty ceiling light, constantly flashing, told reception, and granted, they gave us another room. Staff OK, nothing special. If you are staying in this area, try the Premier Inn in the town centre, more local to all amenities.

Room is clean, check in was smooth enough, but it's old, tatty and in serious need of modernization. Most of the door frames have chunks missing and animals have clearly been allowed to destroy wood and walls. And then there's the so called restaurant. Over priced, flavourless mush, paid nearly forty quid for what can best be described as cheap microwave meals, and that didn't include any puds or booze. Don't recommend, they should have stuck with the beefeater, at least that was half decent. If you need a bed on a budget or last minute, does the job, but wouldn't recommend beyond that.

Excellent value stay, very clean a well appointed room. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Great shower. The staff were great at managing the food allergy (nut, diary and egg) for one of our party. A shame the Beef Eater had closed, but the alternative offering was perfectly adequate.

My husband needed surgery so I was looking for a hotel close to the hospital. Premier Inn is a ‘safe’ brand and the location of the hotel was safe so we booked on the basis of needing a bed for me for the night. What I received was so much more. The staff were so friendly and, on understanding my situation, so kind in helping me make the best of my situation, including support with extending my stay, good options, taxis to the hospital etc. Everyone I spoke with, including receptionists, breakfast staff and domestics, were all willing to help and wanted to be sure I had everything I needed. This made such a difference at a difficult time. Also a shout out to the breakfast which I hadn’t planned to bother with but was brilliant value and delicious!

Kept awake all night by quests. Was full of 17 -20 year olds all congregating in the corridors at 2 am and banging doors. Couldn't even walk to reception to complain at 230am as opened my room door to see corridor full of people was really quiet intimidating. Went to complain at reception in the morning no one there. Was there with our son who had a rugby tournament the next day and was kept awake.
