Premier Inn Helston

Don't know if they were just having a bad day, but there's a male receptionist shall we say of a certain age like myself, who is Mr Happy and makes you feel welcome. So it emphasises the contrast with the lady who handled check in with myself and my wife. It was like you were being interviewed by the police, and it was your fault for asking for a towel per person, a room with a window that opened (only the older rooms have that), and my wife not knowing the car reg. Just really surly, like she's in the wrong job. Departure was no improvement - 'you need to put the card in the box' - no engagement to ask about your stay. One wonders what training is done and whether there are any assessments. As it happened got woken at 05:20 by a delivery driver to the hotel unloading something in to a crate right by the front door. Room was fine, housekeeping staff are great, and restaurant staff are good even if it seems under staffed.

Carpets in hall and bedroom stained, windows need cleaning, overall maintenance has been neglected ,

The premier Inn was overall very friendly, the bed was comfy and very clean, but the room and furniture etc could really do with a complete revamp.

I forgot some items when I left. The housekeeping and reception staff were brilliant. They were responsive and ensured I got them all back safely.

We were meeting some of the family for the first time at a Memorial for a living lost relative- location was key but Hotel very good and clean and good value for money.

A very nice little Premier Inn staff all very helpful. The room was adequate but smell a bit damp. We went to the mill adjacent to the hotel unfortunately wasn’t very good which is unusual for restaurant attached to a Premier Inn. We have stayed in many and they are usually pretty good unfortunately this was very disappointing but never mind.

The room was comfy enough but when we went into the bathroom there was human poo on the walls, I went to reception and spoke to a lady who came out and wiped it off, told me to report it online which I did with no reply, I phoned the hotel and was then told to email their complaints dept, which I did, no reply… I even attached photos to both emails. I also was given an extra hand towel which had lipstick on it. Whilst the hotel is ok, the cleanliness and customer care is appalling!

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It gave us what we needed - a pleasant, clean room with a comfortable bed. We paid extra for the meal deal and this meant that we could relax at the end of the day and not have to rush to find somewhere for breakfast before returning home. Only disappoin**ent was that we only found out about the free WiFi when we were in the restaurant and family had been waiting to hear from us. Also lack of red wine - they had sold out of both Shiraz and Merlot!!

On March 18th 2024, the restaurant was not open for dinner, which I did not find out until I arrived. When I checked in, I was carrying three bags. The 2 staff at the desk did not offer any help. A hotel guest held the door open for me. There is no lift, had to walk up 2 flights of stairs. Room 161 had mould on the ceiling. The soap in the shower did not come out due to faulty pump. Very disappointing.
