On arrival we were welcomed by Jodie. She showed us to the Kingfisher suit which we found to be large and very comfortable. Great views across the bay and a filling breakfast. Very helpful and informative. The garden was well maintained and good safe place to park the motorbike

This hotel is run by a very friendly and helpful young couple. Unfortunately there is no restaurant and the local town does not have any quality restaurants - we had a fish and chip meal in town The room was comfortable and well heated with a comfortable bed and had a nice view and there is also a small bar

The Navidale House Hotel sits in a large garden with spectacular views over the sea We arrived on a misty and cool night in late June and were greeted by a huge log fire in the beautiful reception area and were met by one of the friendly owners who booked us in and showed us to our lovely room. Breakfast next day was very good and served in a relaxed atmosphere. We would not stay anywhere else in Helmsdale - one of our best ever B&B experiences

Love this hotel, Darren and the entire small crew that run this place, are very friendly and welcoming. They are doing a fantastic job, and recent improvements have made a great place even better. Our room the 'Dove' was lovely, top quality towels and toiletries, and lovely comfy bed. Breakfast is excellent, quality food and they cater well for myself with all my vegetarian and dietary issues. Very welcoming to dogs and beautiful spacious grounds. Cant fault this hotel and will always stay here on our journey back home to Orkney.

This is a well positioned hotel on the beautiful coast very close to Dunrobin Castle. Very friendly hosts who made you feel very welcome. Our room...the Swan ...had a gorgeous view of the sea and the two windows made it nice and bright. It has just been refurbished and was very comfortable with a dressing table and lots of storage for clothes. The ensuite bathroom though small was exceptionally clean with a good shower. Our bed was very comfortable with lovely soft sheets. There was a tasty breakfast in the morning with excellent vegetarian choices and again there was that spectacular view of the gardens overlooking the sea as you ate. The hosts are considering holding weddings there and I can't think of a more beautiful setting. I wish them every success.

We stopped at the hotel thinking it would have a good position and we were not disappointed. We got the last (of 10) room , but it had a great double aspect over the sea and gardens. Very quiet, comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast. We also made a nice walk down to the beach. Great one night stay. Many thanks

Let's say something positive. The breakfasts are good if limited in choice. My room was poorly appointed. No thought has been given to how a guest, a female guest in particular perhaps, is going to get ready for the day. There was no vanity unit, no chair, and the only mirror was too far away from any electric socket to be able to use a hair dryer, hot brush or electric shaver effectively. You can't drink the water and not enough bottled water is left in the room so you have to keep asking for more. The bath towel is small and doesn't go round you. Your room won't be serviced unless you ask for it to be done, which I find unacceptable when you're paying £100/night for a pokey single room. The staff are nice, especially the lady serving breakfast, but I think the owners are playing at it really. It was all rather unprofessional.

Friendly staff and comfortable facilities. Wonderful room with a small but very functional en suite. Breakfast was excellent and the owners cannot do enough to make you welcome and provide what you need. No evening meal which is the only drawback and choices nearby are limited unless you want pizza or fish and chips. Location is right on the cliff just north of Helmsdale.

Navidale House was a real find and we wished we had been staying longer. We had only booked for one night, en route to Scrabster for the ferry to Orkney. We enjoyed the lovely view from the terrace with a drink, before going into Helmsdale for dinner. On our return, we had freshly made coffee and a drink in the bar. Our bedroom (the Osprey Room) was very comfortable and breakfast next day was excellent - a wide choice and very well cooked. After breakfast, we took a short walk beyond the garden to a good viewpoint with a bench. Throughout our stay, the staff were welcoming and friendly and we would be very happy to return.
