Love the place, location, amazing garden with so many birds including our favorite Turaco, Great breakfast, great service, Located in a macadamia farm, not far from Hazyview and not far from several gates to Kruger National Park

This place was mind blowing. We as family will sure visit again to spend some more time and have fun

My wife and I from the U.S. joined my wife's sister and her husband from Tehran for a brief tour of South Africa. The Kruger National Park near Hazyview was our second stop, after Capetown. The setting is absolutely charming, several miles outside of Hazyview. We arrived in the "low" season - December - and thus were the only guests for two of the three nights there. The lodging was excellent - each unit was a stand-alone thatched roof room with basic cooking equipment - no hotplate or stove, but microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and coffemaker. Amenities included a pool and a sauna, which my brother in law used and enjoyed. The maintenance was exceptional; the rooms sotless, the grounds well groomed. Breakfasts were a delight. The staff, particularly Connie (who spent years as an expert horticulturist in banana research) , went above and beyond and was very helpful in providing guidance and suggestions regarding where to go and what to avoid. Highly recommended!

We returned to Idle and Wild after our first stay 25 years ago. A few changes in that time, there were only two rondavels then and it was a mango farm and later to be a macadamia farm. Again we weren’t disappointed. We stayed for three nights in the honeymoon’ rondavel and ate breakfast on the veranda of the main house. Our hosts couldn’t have made us more welcome.
