A magical place, it's a shame that during the day you can hear the noise of the road, the best thing is the hippos in front of the terrace. A cuisine that uses traditional specialties and charming staff, I'll go back as soon as I can, but not for their safaris which, although well organized, would deserve a shorter circuit off the tarmac roads, on the tracks, and rather at a slower pace.

Stayed at this property for a week in December 24 and I can only praise the property and the employees. A wonderful place, quiet and tranquil. Very good location to visit the Krueger National Park (15 min drive to gate), and to discover the Drakensberge with God's Window and the Blyde River Canyon! I can strongly recommend this place!

Excellent hotel. Staff were friendly & helpful. Food was very good. Rooms comfortable, very clean and up to date decor. Could not fault the hospitality at this resort. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone needing accommodation at the gateway to Kruger National Park.

Checked in. SABI RIVER SUN ! PEOPLE CAN RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY!! Went to room. Opened curtain. Pitch black view from room & dead quiet So called reception & asked for a change of room. To like pool facing.now in the morning I open curtains Yoh! My view is a car park! Reminding me of horrible urban areas. I didn’t pay for an expensive accommodation to come see a car park. I paid for a soothing relaxing view Not a view to raise my blood pressure! I am livid. This hotel was supposed to be a highlight! It’s a bloody ripoff ! Night manager had audacity to give me this room . As he knew my concern was view ! Room has damp smell. Have a noisy fridge that didn’t allow for a good sleep .

Good family vibe and close to Kruger National Park great for a family with kids. Fantastic staff service downfall is the food unfortunately and price for locals. Buffet menu changes I saw meals from lunch like left overs being served again for supper for the price I expected much exquisite tasting food. Construction still happening they should advise this upon bookings. More a tourist attraction minus the food as that would be disappointing even the "braai" evening was not good with the sides so a bit sad the relish tasted like canned relish without being spruced up at least not a great way to show off South African cuisine. Completely over priced for the local South Africans wouldn't pay out of my own money to come here. To pay R40 for a mini can of coke etc is just extreme hence more affordable for tourists

We were here 4 nights. Did not enjoyed it very much. Small room with queen size beds (to small with my kids) Very small bathroom. Rooms were clean, that’s a plus but they could do some maintenance! Food very poor.. would not come back here! To expansive for what you get! There is a golfcourse (very nice!) There is a pool but it was to cold to use it unfortunately.

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights over school holidays. From the moment we arrived, we loved our stay. The staff are friendly, the food was good but most of all the most beautiful setting. We had amazing sightings from the new Hide of hippos and crocs and water birds. The new Padel and Pickleball courts are full and we had a great time.

Resort remains very good in general. Sesonke Restaurant is still very mediocre despite numerous complaints and bad reviews for years. Southern Sun F&B department don't seem to bother with improvements, maybe because foreign tourists come in bus loads with nowhere else to go for meals. Therefore, they keep it going with its limited menu, poor buffet selection and lacking in value for money. On a positive note, timeshare units, property and golf course are all excellent in every respect.
