Hotel Het Oosten

The hotel, located in an industrial area, is supposed to have 4 stars, but the reception is only manned when the Asian restaurant in the same building is open. The parking spaces are then used by visitors. Breakfast was not included in the hotel stay and could have been ordered, but this would have been brought to the room the evening before for 8.50 euros. The room (104 in our case) was very worn out, dirty with liquids on the curtains and walls. The beds were not even turned down by the staff, as is the case in other hotels (with fewer stars). The room also stank of vomit or wet dog, just sour. Even after informing the staff, who did not want to or could not smell the smell, and after supposedly cleaning, the smell did not go away, so we decided to leave the hotel early with headaches and constant disgust (despite the window being open). The bathroom was OK. The shower curtain in front of the bathtub was a simple plastic curtain that showed heavy signs of wear and mold. The faucet still had knobs, so it was very inconvenient to adjust the temperature. The minibar was a small refrigerator that we could have filled ourselves. We didn't see a hotel bar that didn't seem to belong to an Asian restaurant. Only Dutch TV channels were available. The trash can in the room and bathroom hadn't been emptied in four days. The passage to the stairwell, which hotel guests had to use because it was not possible to use the main entrance during the day, was a large ashtray and can and bottle storage area. The area was more like a can-throwing booth, because even the best cans and bottles were lying around while we were there. All in all, this hotel has more of a character for migrant workers who need accommodation after work, but not for guests who want to go on vacation and want a little comfort to enjoy their vacation.

We booked a room and called. When we asked if breakfast was included, the answer was yes. When we got there, we were told breakfast was not included. We would have had to pay an additional 17 euros for breakfast, and Tripadvisor says that breakfast is also free or included. We didn't like that. The corridors upstairs by the rooms smell of food from the restaurant downstairs. We were out late in the evening and when we wanted to take a shower, the two shower gel and shampoo containers in the shower were empty!! There was still hair in the bed. There were feather dusters on the blankets and the bathroom wasn't really clean. There were still water stains everywhere in the shower. The minibar and fridge were also empty!! For 122 euros a night I expected something different.

De kamer oogt netjes de badkamer gedateerd, met bruine aanslag in het bad. Helaas is de dispenser voor zeep/doucheschuim leeg! ook steken er in een lijst naast de spiegel spijkers uit! 's morgens vroeg is er geen receptie, sterker nog, je moet via een "vluchtroute" het hotel verlaten! Ontbijt wordt de avond vooraf op je kamer afgeleverd. Broodjes met boter, maar GEEN mes om te smeren!
