Village Knights Accommodation

After wandering through the little streets from Zebbug Church Square following our google map we found the little entrance with wrought iron gates. We used the code to enter and as we did so we were both blown away….. it’s very hard to describe something so beautifully and tastefully designed… Village knights is a 400 year old building lovingly restored by the lovely owners Simon and Elvira who also live at the property but in their own self contained area. The house is yours shared with three other rooms.

Having recently spent four splendid nights at the Village Knights in Malta, I feel compelled to share the magic of our experience at this truly exquisite bed and breakfast. Tucked into the heart of Malta, this century-old building encapsulates the charm and hospitality of the island in a way that is unforgettable. Our hosts, Simon and Elvira, are the heart and soul of the Village Knights. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and genuine desire to ensure our comfort transformed our stay into something more akin to a visit with old friends rather than a mere vacation. Their service was impeccable and personal, often going above and beyond to cater to our every need and request. The frequent friendly chats we had were not just enjoyable, but truly set the Village Knights apart. The location of the B&B is a boon in itself. Nestled in the center of town, it acts as a perfect springboard for expeditions across the island. Yet, despite its central location, it retains an atmosphere of tranquility that provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of travel. One of the highlights of our stay was certainly the breakfasts served in the secluded garden next to the pool. There was something inherently calming about starting the day amidst the tranquil surroundings, the only interruption being the pleasant chirping of birds. The accommodations were no less impressive. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and provided a serene view of the pool. The silence of the night contributed to the sense of peace that pervaded the entire place. It’s clear that thought has been put into every detail of the furnishings. Each piece of furniture seems to tell a story, adding to the charm of this hundred-year-old establishment. And then, there was Whiskey - the owners' delightful cat. A delightful creature who welcomed us with her purrs every time we set foot in the garden, adding yet another layer of warmth to our stay. Returning to the Village Knights after a day of exploring felt like coming home - the entire place emanates a sense of tranquility, tastefully paired with a rich historical ambiance. In our numerous travels around the globe, our stay at the Village Knights ranks among the very best. The combination of the idyllic location, luxurious rooms, unparalleled service, and, above all, the warmth of our hosts made our time in Malta truly unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend the Village Knights to anyone looking for an authentically warm and personalized Maltese experience.

What a superb B&B, the perfect base for a holiday in Malta. Elvira is the most wonderful host, friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the local area. There was nothing that was too much during our 8 night stay. Elvira & Simon’s son Michael even made us lunch on our final day - an amazing Maltese treat! Breakfast was fantastic, cold meats and cheese, Maltese bread, eggs, fresh pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt - exactly what you need before a day of sightseeing. We stayed in the Mdina room, which had a massive super king bed with balcony over looking the pool. It was great, very comfortable, and even had its own Netflix subscription. There is a great pool area for relaxing, quiet, not overlooked with a nice garden. We really enjoyed staying in Zebbug, very few tourists in what felt like a locals town. Some great restaurants and bars, can highly recommend Lokomotif, we ate there on 3 occasions and the food was superb every time. I cannot recommend Village Knights highly enough - it’s the perfect place for a trip to Malta, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps. Thank you Elvira & Simon!
