The hotel is so beautiful, the breakfast in the restaurant is very good, the service is first-class, and there is also an Asian restaurant. The British butlers all speak English. Great experience for traveling. The hotel has a big swimming pool. There is also an outdoor restaurant

A charming, small hotel in a beautiful and unique, historic location in Mdina at the centre of the island. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our room had a great sized bedroom, leading to a bathroom suite. There was a staircase leading to a mezzanine level with sofa, and a balcony with a hot tub where we enjoyed spectacular views of the island. The doorway to the balcony was low but not a problem. The breakfast was plentiful with pristine linens and friendly staff. The trattoria restaurant was closed during our visit and we did not dine at the Michelin starred restaurant (except for breakfast). There are some highly ranked restaurants in nearby Rabat, just a short walk away, which we enjoyed visiting very much. Overall, this is a classy and quiet hotel and we felt pleased that we decided to stay. Valletta and other coastal spots are easily reachable by bus or taxi (Uber /Bolt operate too).

We’ve enjoyed the weekend at Urban Valley. We visited with our small dog. Upon arrival they made us feel welcome! Dream, our dog had his own bed, a bucket full of goodies also for him to enjoy! The manager, Adrian is very kind and professional in his work. We enjoyed the afternoon tea at bar area close to the reception, and we were served by Peter, another hotel gem! Welldone, we will surely re-visit! Breakfast was delicious and rooms very clean and neat! 10/10 👏Thankyou Adrian and all the Team

There are spiders on the walls of the room, and mosquitoes in the room have been flying, which is really unbearable. The living environment feels damp and a bit dirty. The bathroom is not too clean. There is no hair dryer in the public area, but many youth hostels provide hair dryers. The lights in the bathroom often go out, and the lights suddenly go out after taking a shower. The roommate was very noisy, still calling at one or two in the middle of the night, and didn't sleep well for three days. Except for the great attitude of the service staff, everything else is very general. Will not come again in the future.

The bistro is very nice and elegant. The good attention at all times from the staff stands out, they are very cordial, helpful and always serve you with a smile on their face. Also in terms of food and drinks compared to other accommodations I visited in the same area, I notice that the level is higher, abundant and well served.

Returned 2 weeks ago after a wonderful week saying at The Palace Hotel. It took a long time to decide where to stay in Malta given the enormous choice and yet very mixed reviews, however I was really pleased we settled on The Palace. I did 1 less star for 'value', but this wasn't just in relation to The Palace as I thought generally hotel's in Malta were definitely on the pricier side. The room was lovely with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen and we had some lovely touches such as a daily visit from hospitality asking if we needed anything, and a bottle of filtered water changed daily. An excellent idea and far better than the frequent plastic bottles and subsequent waste. We also arrived on my husband’s birthday and quite unexpectedly in the evening, a lovely birthday cake was delivered to our room! From our initial greeting at reception with a lovely local drink and onwards, we had a brilliant service from every single member of staff. They were all very helpful and yet not intrusive. In particular lovely Puja in the wonderful TemptAsian’ restaurant, and Dhilip who served us both by the pool and at the ground floor Talk of the Town restaurant. Both were extremely knowledgeable and gave sound advice regarding choice of meals and suitable local wines. As we like to try local restaurants when we go away, we chose the bed and breakfast option however we were so impressed with the lovely rooftop TemptAsian restaurant we ate there twice. We then went for the buffet in the Talk of the Town restaurant on our last night, where we again had an excellent service from Dhilip, and where the food was well presented and excellent value for money. Sliema is a busy place with lots of hotels, and as other reviewers have stated, The Palace was within the centre of the peninsula, so although it wasn’t in the most picturesque road, given its proximity to all public transport, the ferry and bus stops including the ‘hop on/off’, we felt there was no necessity to hire a car. We did the short ferry over to Valletta many times and a bonus for us was a considerable ‘over 60’ concession. We managed to cram a lot in during our week in Malta from the numerous museums, tombs, caves and other historical places, in addition to exploration of the island on both the north and south hop on/off buses and brief trip to Gozo. I’m not sure we could not have done quite so much had we not been in such an ideal location. The other bonus was on the days we were back in time, having a swim in the gorgeous rooftop pool, and the Happy hour cocktails between 3 and 5 pm. Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in Malta.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. I traveled to Malta alone and chose the Primera Hotel as one of the cheapest options in Malta. In principle, the travel guide says that Valletta is the best place to stay, but I would not agree with this, as it is an hour from St. Paul's Bay to Valletta, an hour to the ferry to Gozo and half an hour to Rabat/Mdina. Excursions such as to the Blue Grotto only go via Valletta and it takes 2 hours by bus. However, you can combine this with a travel route via Valletta or as the last spot before the airport. The hotel was clean, the rooms were more than adequately equipped and for €8 you could book breakfast on site, which was a bit English but had something for everyone. The only thing that could be difficult is being able to eat more than just fruit and bread as a vegan.

Myself and my partner had a wonderful experience at Best Western Premier. The staff are exceptionally obliging and extremely friendly. The gentlemen working at the rooftop poolside bar couldn’t be more helpful when ordering food and drinks. We also had great fun playing pool in the evenings and talking to Brendan about rugby at the bar. We were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay and would have no issues in recommending this hotel to friends and family. Malta has been lovely and we look forward to visiting again soon!
