InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef

Let me talk about the advantages first: We stayed in the beachfront pavilion, which is a king-size bed seaside pavilion. It is close to the sea, has a good view, and the room is spacious and has a hot spring. The most important thing is that it is very close to the area where the sand kangaroos wallaby are active. There are many cute little kangaroos nearby at night. It is a five-minute walk to the swimming pool and restaurant area. The ecological environment is very good. The tall trees and vegetation along the way block the sun. There are Thai and Italian restaurants (dinner needs to be booked). The swimming pool is large enough for swimming and there are not many people at night, which is equivalent to exclusive use. The hotel room service is timely, cleaned at least twice a day, and the response speed and service attitude of the front desk and activity center are also very good. There are many activities on the island, and the vacation will not be boring. The air quality and snorkeling quality are very good. It is also convenient to book sea activities and hiking activities. The hotel official website can be booked in advance before check-in, or you can go directly to the activity department after check-in. Then there are areas that I personally think need improvement: There can be more types of meals! For example, Chinese food! The shower in the room seems to be a little damaged and cannot be adjusted to a rain shower. There is a little bit of bird droppings on the glass which is not easy to clean, but the service staff has tried their best to clean it during our stay. It may need to be thoroughly cleaned after check-out, because there are only a few traces, so it can be ignored. Everything else is great. I will come here for vacation with my family next time. I think if there is a more suitable dining experience for my taste, I will not feel bored staying here for half a month😋

The breakfast is nice. The layout of the room is OK, worthy of a five-star hotel, but the bathroom is not clean... Also, the service of a male waiter was very bad when checking in. He got our check-out time wrong twice. It was my first time to go to a hotel on this island, so I was confused. The male waiter told us that the room location was unclear, so we went to the wrong place once and had to run back to ask before we found the correct location. As for restaurants on the island, check out the Google reviews. You can’t go wrong with restaurants with high ratings. The infinity pool on the island also has a nice view!

It was a very satisfying vacation. The speedboat to the island provided drinks and snacks, which was a great experience. The room size was OK, but the furniture was not very smart. In terms of food and beverage, the Italian restaurant amici was great, and the breakfast at Pacific was also super rich. The Thai restaurant bambam was not delicious, the curry was weird, and the teppanyaki beef was too raw. Activities were the most unsatisfactory of this trip. It was impossible to make an appointment for outer reef diving. The Whitehaven Beach trip and helicopter experience were good, but the price was too expensive, especially the helicopter, which was more than twice as expensive as Hon Island.

Environment: One island, one hotel, excellent location Service: Not many people. You may hear but not necessarily serve. Special attention: The hotel charges a lot of random fees. Even if you are at the front desk, they still deduct fees outside the confirmed bill.
