We have just returned from a week at St Ives bay beach resort, staying in one of the Stargazer caravans. Firstly, let me say that the Stargazer is a very nice caravan with amazing views over the bay. The hottub was checked daily first thing in the morning which was nice to see. Now for the not so good parts. When we arrived, the bathroom window was broken, there were ants in the drinks optics, the bathroom radiators were covered in rust and we didn't have a clothes airer or a pole to open the rooflight windows. Also, the TV wasn't straight on the wall. We complained about the bathroom window and that was sorted the next day by a very nice chap (didn't catch his name) and we also got sorted with the clothes airer. We didn't want to mention anything else as it felt like we were in reception every day complaining about something and the other things were either, minor ******* (tv not being straight) or big jobs to sort (radiators replacing). My point is, we paid £1500 for 7 nights for this stay. I priced up a 10 night stay in August and the price was close to £4000. Paying that sort of money, you expect everything to be perfect. I don't see the justification for almost £400 per night in peak season. My son and I had breakfast one day in the bistro which wasn't amazing. I had fried eggs on toast which were greasy and overcooked and my son had the pancake stack with nutella (5 asda pancakes and a couple of sachets of nutella which we had to spread ourselves). Bistro and bar are massively overpriced but i guess they have the captive audience. All the staff were really nice to be fair. The pool was nice but the best part about this site is the location. Perfect views and the beach is brilliant. A little steep to get on and off but my son loved playing in the sand dunes and it gave us some good exercise! Overall, we had a great time and we would come back again if the prices were a little more realistic.

This could be a lovely site when we got to our caravan I was disgusted with the cleanliness of the van the fridge was dirty I had to clean it before we could use it. The oven grill and top of cooker was disgusting the doors were filthy the gas fire was so dusty . The microwave was so dirty and full of rust although when reported it was replaced. cobwebs on lights . Shower door was broken although repaired by a very nice maintenance man who was very apologetic. Mould on bed room ceiling which was reported but nothing done about it . This was all reported which they sent someone up and all that was done was clean the grill pan and wipe a doors .i don’t expect to come on holiday and have to clean when i get there .

Let's start with the positives. We had a superior caravan with decking and a sea view. Spotlessly clean and the view was amazing ! Very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The sun even put in an appearance! All the staff we had contact with were lovely. However we normally enjoy an early evening drink sitting outside the Sand Bar taking in the view. Not this time. Unfortunately it's dominated by a huge screen showing football ( accompanied by topless men....come on chaps put a t shirt on!) I feel it would have been nice to have been warned about this when we booked. Beer £7.05 a pint!!! Also there now seems to be so many caravans squeezed in to any available spot. And dogs everywhere. Sat inside the bar one evening and dogs were barking and growling at each other and anyone that walked by. Also we had 2 different dogs actually come into our caravan!! And the shop on site no longer sells newspapers so had to drive to Lidl each morning. But the view is still one of the best!

Lovely holiday site, clean, well kept, with regular evening entertainment in the club house. Perhaps could do with more evening entertainment for older teen children, i.e. inexpensive arcade, etc. Bar on beach front was nice, so was swimming pool. Shop a little expensive

Myself and my daughter stayed for 2 weeks. We stayed in a value chalet and I've got to say it was VERY good value. Pretty much everything we needed, clean and comfortable enough. Just a couple of tips for people who want to stay...if you like to stretch out on a sofa, choose a caravan because the sofa in the chalet is a small 2 seater...but it was fine for us. If you want to make ice cubes, take a cube tray or bags. Take some hangers because there are some but not loads (which is the same most places, even expensive places.) If you have health/mobility issues the beach is really hard work to get down to/up from. When they say it's steep, they aren't lying! It's also a long trek from the value chalet area but there is a car park there. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The entertainment is OK. It's a shame the quiz has the same questions every week...maybe have two sets and alternate them so those of us who stay for 2 weeks can take part both weeks. The Dynamite bar doesn't do food outside of peak holiday period, which was a tad disappointing. Maybe they could make it clear on the website. Apart from those little details I would 100% recommend this place for a holiday and we will be back.

A lovely site with amazing views over to both St Ives/Carbis Bay and Godrevy. Staff friendly and helpful, shop although more expensive than a supermarket had a good range of items. The premium view Stargazer we had is starting to look shabby, dirty carpet (at the beginning of the season) ensuite radiator more rust than white, sofa broken, electrical fitting covers missing and nasty smell in bedroom where previous guest had been vaping. But by far the worst was the dreadful food in Sands Bistro, so much worse than last year, all fried food very over cooked, pizza toppings sparse, fajitas very greasy and creamy garlic mushrooms very watery. Also disppointed no welcome pack this year, seems less is on offer for the premium price this year.

The site and accommodation are great but to have to stand for 10 minutes before any bar staff appear then pay close to £7 a pint is not good by any standard, plus while we sat there two pther couples walked out fed up with waiting. In the past service at the Sands bar has been good but not this time to top it last orders was shouted at 10 .40 then the staff disappeared again

Exceptional place to stay. The staff are so friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Everything about our stay was amazing. I was a bit skeptical at first because we visited for a bargain price but as soon as we walked in our accomodation I knew we'd made the right choice. All in all a fabulous short break, if you're considering it I'd say definitely go for it! We walked into our chalet, switched the kettle on and it shorted the electrics, within 2 minutes the kettle was replaced and problem solved - you can't get better service than that! :) Nearby activities: Really short drive to St.Ives, Penzance & Carbis Bay and Hayle itself is a hidden gem of a place. Or adventure in the other direction via the coastal roads to North Cliffs, Porthowan and Portreath for breathtaking views. Safety: Security on the gates - so polite & friendly at the barrier. Food & drinks: Beautiful Bistro with great Ocean views, but also heaps of local places to eat out. Lidl & Asda a short drive away if you fancy making your own. We'd definitely go back.
