A bit old and tired but brilliant location for the Sett Valley Trail. Walked the 3 miles to New Mills with the dog and back again. Pub is friendly with helpful staff. No evening meals or pub lunches but they do an amazing full English breakfast. Couldn’t eat it all and remained stuffed all day so saved on lunch! Dog friendly so all good. Busy with locals and all sports available on bar TV

My 2nd stay here,great value for money, warm welcome and the locals are friendly,I like my walking and my beer !! Less than 5 min drive to bowden bridge car park if fancy kinder scout . For me ,perfect no nonsense accomadation,great beer, great breakfast, thanks again

We stayed there with our 2 dachshunds and had a lovely time the. Bed had a deep mattress was superb and the breakfast was perfect a good quality full english the couldnt do enough and we will stay there again

We stayed here on our way back from Scotland. The room was comfortable and old fashioned but in a nice way as it set the scene for the area. We had an amazing view of the hills from our room window which was nice just to sit and look out at. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. The host was very friendly and helpful. Only downside was we were in a room near the road and it was karaoke night. We heard Angels by Robbie Williams numerous times and the people who were outside in the little patio area were not very quiet. Would recommend but try and get a room on the other side. Hopefully it is quieter.

Located very close to Kinder Scout. The room was very nice and the view was lovely with the views of the mountains in the distance. Stayed in the single room which had a small double bed. The shower was nice and hot and the room was clean. Perfect for myself and my dog. The breakfast was perfect too!

A really nice pub with rooms. Very reasonable cost and a superb breakfast included (Full English.) Beds very comfortable and all usual facilities included. Bathroom a little mouldy in places but otherwise very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend for a stopover. Dog friendly. The pub itself serves great real ales. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Only stayed for one night, but was ideal. Good value for money. Landlord showed us to our room and told us of the stairs and door straight into pub. Dog friendly, as were the locals in the pub! Owners nice and friendly too. Would stay again. Full English breakfast was exceptional.
