It was a tiny little village with maybe two streets and this was one of the most beautiful interiors of a B&B we’ve been in so far. The outside was sort of spare and bleak, but inside was so nice. Huge room for us with a little side room and chairs to sit in and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was delicious - all locally sourced Northumberland foods.

We spent a night here on the way over to the North East to visit our family. Our room was spacious, clean and with coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom was well appointed and the shower excellent. We carried on our way after a really tasty breakfast. Thank you Lois and Dave we will definitely be calling again.

It was a great experience to stay with Lois and Dave. Nice clean room, Parking just outside the building. First class breakfast, homemade by Lois herself every morning. Very good.

Great traditional BnB! We were very warmly welcomed by Lois. Love the chill out area. Also thoughtful touches in the bathroom like makeup remover pads. Really appreciated that there were two chairs in the room. Also…and I wish everywhere did this…simplified wifi code instead of a long string of numbers and letters! Lovely freshly cooked breakfast, chilled water and cordials available and a fridge for guests’ use. All at a great price. This is a fantastic place to stay and I thoroughly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at Shaftoes Guest House. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed with many nice touches. Breakfast was delicious. Lois was an excellent source for local information and suggestions. Exceptional!
