Mount View Motel Hawera

Based on my recent stay - Communication was outstanding. Very clean and tidy. Fantastic water pressure. Heater worked perfectly. We had a very quiet room so slept well. Able to stay longer until picked up. Would definitely use this motel again. -Karen

While conveniently close to several tourist attractions, it's worth noting the distance—about an hour from New Plymouth Central and Whanganui, and approximately four hours from the capital, Wellington. Consider this hotel if you value affordability and don't mind the slightly longer travel times to major destinations.

Great little motel, very clean and tidy and Christina was awesome to deal with and went out of her way to help us. Good bbq area and spa was available even though we didnt use them. Communication was good leading up to our stay.

Great service, clean comfortable, Amanda acting manager was very helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend. We stayed five nights, our room was serviced twice with fresh towels available everyday. Laundry facilities were also available.

We recently block booked rooms for guests at our wedding. Christina was so helpful and flexible and our guests ready enjoyed their stay at this lovely clean and conveniently located motel. Some stayed in units and others stayed as a group in the house, great options for all size groups.

A lovely motel and loads of fun. One of a few motels that has sky TV. Enjoyed the kids play area and the private spa. The units are tidy and spacious. Close to all attractions Hawera has on offer. My family enjoyed the stay so much.

Stayed for 3 nights over new years, we were in and out alot but the host was fantastic in meeting our needs! Family of 6 (incl, our shitzu). Very helpful and even gave us a a discount as I was short on change. Lovely setting and the kids enjoyed it. Thanks for having us! Definitely recommend and will be back!

We decided to take an impromptu overnight trip to Taranaki with our pet border collie straight after New Years. We were lucky to find this pet-friendly motel in Hawera. I called the night before with a couple of questions (i.e. to check if pets definitely were allowed, as many change the rules over busy periods) and to see if they had two rooms side by side for our group. I also had questions about the kitchen facilities in the rooms. The manager was exceptionally helpful, outlined their pet policy in detail as well as what we could expect in our rooms. When we arrived we weren't expecting much (many pet friendly motels can be quite run-down). But we were delighted to find two very clean, modern(ish) and comfortable rooms right at the back of the complex away from the busy road. One room had a full kitchen and the other just tea/coffee facilities, which was perfect for our group. The rooms were quiet and private, and plenty of space for our wee doggie (we were asked to bring a bed for her to sleep on, as pets are not permitted on the beds in the units). Each room had a separate single bed as well as a queen, and the bathrooms were both modern and very clean. They have a small garden at the motel for toileting the dog but didn't want to use that too much as there was also a small children's playground. Luckily it was just a 10-15min walk down the road to the park/gardens for a good walk. There were a couple of other dogs at the motel, but they were very quiet and well behaved which was great! All in all I would highly recommend this motel as a fantastic pet-friendly stay in Taranaki.
