The equipment was a little old and there were some problems (some lights didn't work, the shower head was broken, etc.), but considering the price, I don't think the small details are that big of a deal. Since the restaurant is relatively large, the menu has a wide variety of Western and Chinese dishes, and the local Sri Lankan curry is served buffet-style, so I think it's good enough to satisfy both the variety and taste. The restaurant staff was an excellent and hospitable male staff member who seemed to have had a career in a foreign hotel.He was able to provide excellent service by listening to our requests and acting on them, so we had a comfortable stay.

Our recent stay at Hotel Hillcool did give the best memory We loved and felt more comfortable here because the staff was ready to serve anything we asked for very quickly Authentic food, Indian, Chinese variety of food We enjoyed the music band and danced at the open restaurant Overall a happy place

We recently stayed at Hill Cool Hatton as a group and had a pleasant experience. The food was good, offering a variety of tasty options that satisfied our cravings. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with the family suite standing out as particularly spacious and accommodating. It provided ample space for us to relax and feel at home. Overall, Hill Cool Hatton is a nice place to stay with good food, friendly staff, and clean rooms, especially the family suite. I would recommend it for a comfortable, pleasant and affordable stay.

The restaurant is very good indeed. The parathas, rotis and curries are awesome and a credit to the vision of its pro-active owner. In our experience Hill Cool restaurant is the best between Avissawela and Nuwera Eliya. In fact even if based in Nuwera Eliya it is fully worth traveling to Hill Cool in Hatton as the food is authentic as it is reasonable. Hill Cool also offers accommodation. The views are of a lush tea estate bordering the Hill Cool facility. Professionally run by Nishanthan and his crew.

This was a family outing we had on the 06th of October, 2024. We went for lunch, there was an option of taking the Ala-carte, any choice our kind, or a buffet, We went for the buffet. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The location is convenient, with ample parking, with spacious dining areas. One thing that we noticed was that the staff are noisy , no discipline, as customers we need peace of mind when we are out with our families. The waiters are crowded at the cashier, which is not a pleasant sight for the hotel. There was no water in toilets which was a disaster. When inquired they said that they were filling the tanks. They should be well prepared ahead, before they start their business for the day. They need to look up to these little things. Overall its a good place for an outing. Convenient, basic & comfortable . Our Pekoe Trail Hike stopover for two nights so we could walk both stage 6 & 7 and leave our bags at hotel using train & bus links one way. Very close to trail head so meant a flying start. Then fun to return to great curry dinners & a few drinks. Our room had a lovely view out over the tea fields (The hotel fronts the main road but the back area with accom is quiet) Manager Jay was incredibly helpful. The buses go from out the front of the hotel so easy to get into Kotagala/the train station.
