I absolutely do not recommend the SOCO Hotel in Barbados. This stay was a complete disaster from start to finish. The hotel looks nothing like the descriptions and photos posted online—it's false advertising. The rooms are tiny, poorly soundproofed (be prepared not to sleep), and the welcome is anything but warm (apart from Trudy's room service, which was wonderful). The reception staff is cold, unhelpful, and doesn't take guests' requests into account.
The towels were dirty when we arrived, as if they hadn't been washed properly. As for the food, the meals are repetitive, always the same, but still very good.
As for the beach, we really need to stop saying there's one—it's almost nonexistent! And the pool? Just kidding: it's tiny, it looks like a bathtub. You literally feel ripped off. For a hotel that's supposed to be "all-inclusive," all-inclusive (with nothing in the fridge in the room and no snack bar), and high-end, it's a disgrace. Move on, there are much better options elsewhere in Barbados for the same price, or even cheaper.

The hotel is located right by the sea, all the rooms have a stunning view. The hotel is small, in the photo it seemed bigger. The staff is in the best traditions of the local population, they can be sincere, but more often there was a sense of disdain. Breakfasts also have a local flavor, it is interesting to try a couple of times, but I would not eat this for a week. Lunches and dinners are on the menu, the choice is not very large, but there was always an acceptable option, we did not go hungry. In some places it was even very tasty. Simple wine is included in the price, cocktails are normal. We got to a party with champagne and live music - very cool! From the hotel along the beach there is a pedestrian walkway, you can walk. The bus stop is next to the hotel. In general, everything is ok

The area where the hotel is in is not upscale, it’s run down. The mattresses and pillows are very old and look very used. The amenities are outdated and cheap. The staff was excellent and friendly. Especially Trudy. Outstanding and super friendly. The food was fine.

Spectacular place and location.
Food was amazing each and every day and never had a bad meal
The people were amazing ....special note to Shane , Zack, Michelle at the bar who make the experience and the stories and conversation at the bar .

We had a blast! We celebrated ten years of marriage and could not have been happier with the service and staff. We had many options on site and off. The beach behind the hotel was simply amazing :)

We only stayed at this property for one night so perhaps it gets better if you are staying longer and become more familiar to the staff. However that being said, if I stay for one night or 14 I do expect a certain level of, if not friendliness, at least professionalism!
We did arrive early and although we couldn’t book into the room, which was fine, we were allowed to use the pool area. I asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere and had to leave it in the lobby which I didn’t feel was as secure as I would have liked.
We got the welcome email and read that you have to book for the evening meal. Therefore my husband went to the restaurant area to do so. The woman who was there was quite rude and told my husband as he didn’t have a room number he couldn’t book. This was eventually sorted out but only after my husband and the woman went to reception so she could confirm we were checked in.
We eventually waited until 3.30pm to get into our room and could only eat or drink if we paid for it. Which is fair enough.
The room was fine but on opening one of the drawers I found a long black curly hair, definitely not mine!

Our stay was great! I don’t think you can beat the view from each room! It feels like you are on top of the water. Yes, the beach is small, minimal shade and limited chairs but the shallow water is nice. The food is excellent. The menu changes every two days. They did a great job with my gluten free diet and everything I had was amazing. The resort sits at the end of the boardwalk which is great to walk daily. The location is great and close to everything. You do have some road noise but we didn’t mind. The showers are more like luke warm temperature but pressure was good. The rooms are very clean, bright and spacious. The staff is beyond amazing. Everyone was pleasant and smiling. This resort is a small boutique which we loved. Definitely a great place to stay and great value. We would happily return to Soco!
