You can usually expect a fairly good standard at a Premier Inn and know what you are getting but not on this ocassion. Putting to side the £15 parking, the initial entrance to the hotel was met by an overflowing rubbish bin, the reception self check in units were out of order, the lady behind the desk less than enthusiastic with her greeting and it just appeared the hotel was very tired and run down and needed a good clean. I was given my room on the 4th floor, on entering the 4th floor I was met with the full laundry basket which was still there when I later returned from tea. The room had marks on the walls, the air con vents was filthy with dust/cobwebs hanging and blowing when the heating was put on, the toilet seat was filthy, the shower head was dirty, the sink area had dirt marks on it and there were signs of some sort of mould on the ceiling in bathroom. I went down to the restaurant and it was so cold that the five people that were there had hats and coats on. My teeth were literally chattering by the time my tea came, In fairness the gammon I ordered was ok. It also appeared a few people had been waiting too long for food which I was surprised at as there were only five people present. Got to say I didn’t really have a problem with breakfast other than again it being very cold in the restaurant. My company usually stay in Premier Inns as you know what you get but I won’t be staying in this particular Premier Inns when I’m back in Harrogate in 2 weeks time.

Great price as it was between conferences ( despite being half term). Super reception & a nice big room. Quiet overnight & a vast spread at breakfast. Close to the town centre & plenty of places to eat and drink locally. Overall a great place to stay for a short break. We visit maybe twice/year and have never been disappointed.

We booked accommodation & meal deal for 4 nights. The first night of our stay was a new menu, already there were items unavailable. By the time we got to the fourth night it felt there was more unavailable than there was available. Also a lot of drinks unavailable including Coca-Cola, diet Coca-Cola, Birra Moretti. There we no diet drinks at all. Plates at breakfast cold & not enough food. Very short staffed, some staff very rude. Not an experience to be repeated.

No real parking to speak of however, conference centre next door has and is £40 for 3 nights. Decor for the hotel is the same as nearly all Premier Inns and is beginning to look tired especially in the bathroom. No housekeeping during my stay!! No clean towels or Tea/Coffee replenishment and when I spoke to staff was told ‘Did you ask’ Breakfast Friday should start at 0630 however told hot buffet doesn’t start to 0700, no breakfast on Saturday as had to be out early, Continental breakfast only available on Sunday. To add insult to injury was charged for all 3 days as ‘I had booked for breakfast’ and as the wife was unable to stay was charged double anyway!

Comfortable Hotel adjoining the Conference Center. Steep walk uphill from the hotel entrance & then downhill to the road. Limited short term (15 min) parking to unload & load luggage. 72 HR parking deal ( £40:00 instead of £60:00) but it reverts to full price £20:00) for a fourth days stay. Friendly Staff & a reasonable well stocked bar. Good cooked full Breakfast but don't be too late coming down in the morning. Don't expect to use the communicating walkway to the conference centre.

Unfortunately, the hotel was very busy, and the manager was well aware of how understaffed they were at the Easter weekend. All the staff we met and saw were working their socks off to try and give all the clients the correct attention ( I must mention Connor, who was a star). We did have some problems, and my husband spoke to the manager (who gave us excellent customer service), so eventually, everything was happily resolved. I do have to tell you about a male member of staff who refused to serve us drinks late on Friday night. He lied to us and said the bar was closed. We later found out they offer a 24-hour bar. Hope you're pleased with yourself, you miserable man! Everyone else, thanks for a great stay!

The plus points. The bed was comfy and I had a good night's sleep. The location is good. The negatives. The lift from the car park to the hotel is still not working. The two self check in desks are still not working Room 302 is surrounded on two sides by high structures so there is little natural light. This gloomy room has furniture that has seen better days. The carpet is worn. The toilet seat is loose. The sink tap is leaking. We had one bath towel for 2 people. The worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. The sink trap is full of disgusting gunge. The Aircon unit is filthy. The bedside lamps had months/years of dust. The mirror in the bedroom mucky. The skirting boards mucky. On the plus side we were only staying for one night. The highlight of our stay was the superb breakfast with omelettes made to order with a choice of fillings. There were a wide variety of breakfast items always readily available. After reading the reviews for the Premier Inn breakfast we went next door to the Crowne Plaza for breakfast. Of the many Premier Inn's we have stayed in this was easily the worst.
