This hotel stay felt a bit like it was a practical joke. The staff were very nice at check in, and throughout my stay. My room looked nice, and was clean, but once I settled in, the problems started to appear unfortunately. First of all, my room was sweltering. I wrestled with the air-con, checking online to see if I was operating it correctly, eventually having to go downstairs to ask for a fan. A staff member attempted to adjust my room from their controls. However nothing changed all night temperature wise. There are seemingly no fans in the hotel, which seems like an oversight. Knowing there was no way I'd sleep, I decided to try anyway and turned my light off to try at least. It was then that I noticed a green emergency light that is permanently on near the door, illuminating most of my room, like a child's night light. While tossing and turning all night due to the heat and light, I noticed I was laying on a thin mattress topper as opposed to a proper mattress. This explained the uncomfortable bed, just in case the tropical conditions weren't uncomfortable enough. I suppose if you like firm beds, this might not be an issue. However the pillows were great, or at least would have been, without the constant perspiration. While awake all night, I was able to fully appreciate the slamming doors and loudly talking guests, coming back from the 24 hour bar. At least someone was having a good time. So now, after a completely sleepless night, I can look forward to a long drive with my eyeballs on the dashboard of my car. Mercifully, I only booked one night, however if it was more,I would have definitely left today and found somewhere else, or failing that, just gone home and abandoned my trip.

Never been to a Ibis hotel befoer, but was very impressed by the standards of the room and food. I am in a wheelchair but the hotel didn't have any accessible rooms available. That didnt detract from the overall pleasant stay. The bed was big and comfy, and the room was spacious enough to accommodate my wheelchair. There is a large choice for breakfast, which was really nice. The restaurant is not open for dinner on weekends, which is a pity. Never mind. There are lots of eateries nearby. We would definitely stay at an Ibis hotel again.

Rooms are nice, very clean, staff that we spoke to were welcoming. However, went for breakfast at 8am - they had run out of milk!!!! What hotel runs out of milk especially at breakfast? Also the water pressure in our room was nothing short of diabolical. Toilet flushed with plenty pressure but the sink and shower were shocking in room 208.

On a business trip to the UK, Midlands and London, provided the ideal opportunity to sample the different Accor hotels in the UK, similar to the last trip 3 months ago to Paris, trying a coupe of the hotel’s brands (Ibis and Mercure) in the same tier group there. The distinguishing features between the hotel’s brands were less defined and inconsistent, similarly with the facilities and provisions, unlike in the Asia Pacific; at noted overlaps as well and in some cases the lower tier establishment have more or better facilities than the next level hotel. These stays were of overnight durations, excepting for the London Heathrow location, used as a base and for 3 nights. For my bookings in the Spring & Summer, the hotels tariffs vary day to day, sometimes 50-100%. This hotel is a free standing, 4-storey building in an industrial area on the fringe of the town with a large outdoor parking area, which is payable. Entering the hotel, it is a compact open plan set up with reception and lifts to the right and the bar, continuous with the reception round the corner with interior seating, and the restaurant area behind. Check in was quick as there wasn’t a queue. Room didn’t appear to have been upgraded, perhaps full booking or only have one room type; however, it was reasonably sized. Room appointments pretty basic, with an electric jug and tea and coffee making facilities, but no drinking water and bar refrigerator. Lighting was average, not bright but not dim. Being air-conditioned and an acceptable made for a reasonable rest. Bathroom appointments basic with towels but no toiletries. As an Accor member welcome drink was provided, and also a welcome amenity of 2 cans of spring water and 2 chocolate snacks, accompanied by a welcome note. General condition of room appointments and bathroom were as expected. The paid breakfast was pretty average, with cereals, breads and pastry, fruit juice, fruit salad and some cold cuts. Hot items were, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, hash brown and mushroom, the taste of these were acceptable. Overall, pretty much as expected of the Ibis brand. Staff professional and helpful. Check out was fast, as an Accor member with registered fast check out.

I reserved a room but less than an hour later had to cancel for medical reasons. They kept my money saying no refunds. How disgusting is that. Avoid using this company at all costs. The attitude is appalling. Who can afford to live over fifty pounds within one hour. Disgusting disgusting disgusting.

I stayed her for one night on a business trip in August 22. It is a bland hotel on an industrial estate on the (very) outskirts of Rugby, close to the M1 and A5. Check in was OK and the room was clean and a decent size. The bed was comfortable but the air-conditioning was very noisy and in the end I decided to turn it off despite it being a hot evening. Shower was fairly good as well, so overall in this respect things were good. The sound on the TV was dreadful, very tinny and hard to understand, but at least it worked and did not keep dropping signal. I wanted to eat dinner but on check in was told that last orders that night would be 7:45 pm, which seemed very early, especially when told the bar would be open until midnight. The restaurant is next to the bar, and the only difference between the two areas is the type of seating, which reminded me of a school canteen. Anyway having decided to just accept the early times and eat there I went down and placed my order for one of their daily specials, Hunters chicken with saute potatoes and veg. Sounded great, but when it was delivered I was a bit shocked, as it was the smallest piece of chicken I have ever seen. Potatoes were nice, and there was lots of cheese and bacon, but the veg was tasteless and very wet, seemed to have been boiled to death for many days! Breakfast the following day, charged at £10 despite the website saying it was £8.95, was equally as bad. Firstly the main coffee machine was broken, then the toaster also would not work, and when they fixed it (after I had finished by breakfast), it only cooked the bread on one side. The sausages were rock solid, overcooked and then left to dry out, the bacon was OK, as were the beans, but generally very poor. Certainly not worth £8.95, let alone £10. Overall very disappointing for a big brand name hotel. I certainly won't be rushing back despite it being close to where i will be every few weeks. I will be looking for other alternatives as this was not worth the money being charged.
