Since the new owners installed a beautiful deck, we wanted to try the food and listen to the live music.. The first time we went this year 3 of us came for dinner, drinks and music on the back deck. My husband decided on the crab cakes and onion straws for his dinner, and my cousin and myself ordered the chicken Cesar salad. Our server asked what kind of dressing on the salad…to which I explained that a Cesar salad comes with Cesar dressing! Our server then said, “oh, yeah!” Not a problem. Our food came out and my husband was given a plate of fried green tomatoes, and fried jalapeños. Nothing at all like he ordered! And it wasn’t someone else’s order…it was his, just screwed up! We received our salads, but then hubby had to wait for his food to be remade. When it came out, our server let us know that the cook was new…and? Okay…fast forward to dinner a week later We brought our neighbors and the six of us ended up eating inside. Sad there was no music, but, it happens. Hubby and I decided to split a MEDIUM RARE burger because of the size, and also ordered fried mushrooms and a side of okra. One other couple had the large cut of RARE prime rib, and a filet with a side of calamari. The third couple had pasta and a burger. Their meal was fine. I’m sharing a picture of the prime rib and burger. I didn’t get a pic of the calamari. It was anemic looking!. No breading and rubbery! Being Italian, I have been eating calamari for most of my life, and the only time it is served not breaded is if it’s in a sauce or stew. Our server said it was a new calamari you were using and others had returned it also. She took it off of the bill. I cut into and immediately returned my burger since it was so well done, not even pink inside. Our friend didn’t return his prime rib, because he was hungry! But as you can see, it was nowhere near rare, (and he asked, when ordering if there was any rare prime rib and was told yes). For that price…it should have been perfect. Again this time, we were told that the cook was new, only a couple weeks on the job. Was this on the job training?? Our server was great, she kept apologizing, and we kept telling her that we understood and it wasn’t her fault. We still left a generous tip. Sadly, we will not be back. We have always had fond memories of eating at Biggers, be it lunch or dinner. Last summer, it was delightful. It has a beautiful deck. But the food lacks quality control and didn’t live up to the prices, which we are willing to pay for the right experience. They lost 6 customers, 4 of whom live here full time and have a large community involvement (business owners) where talk spreads like wildfire. I originally messaged the owner this review and waited 2 weeks, but never got a response. Biggers has always had a good reputation for their food but not any more.

Sadly, we were in Hardy for the funeral of our family patriarch....an amazing man who was a church bishop, the senior chaplain of a multi-state hospice organization, and a LtCol in the Air Force Civil Air Patrol, among many other wonderful things. Chrissie Parks and Bobby Smith at Biggers were absolutely amazing. They housed a number of our family at the Inn. And we would have housed everyone there if they had had the accommodations. After the funeral and cemetery services, Chrissie and Bobby provided incredible post-service dining services for all who had attended the funeral services. The food was amazing and views of the entire river valley from the inn back deck are absolutely incredible. This family highly endorses the Biggers Bar Grill and Inn. Amazing people and an amazing place.

My husband and I went for Valentine weekend. I tried to get a reservation but was told we didn’t need one with less than 6 people. We got there & immediately were asked if we had a reservation. Uh, no, you wouldn’t make one. Then the hostess just gave us a bad grin and said well you can sit here then. I said what about the room with the view? She said those are for reservations. The hostess, which we heard is there all the time, was snarky and acted like she owned the place. Maybe she does but she was a poor representation of the establishment. Our waitress ended up moving us to a view because we arrived 2 hours before the reservation was set. The hostess was not happy with her. I ordered the filet and while it was cooked correctly, there literally was no flavor. Not for the $40 it was though. My husband had Cajun chicken Alfredo. It was a joke. No Cajun taste at all and I could make better out of a can of Alfredo sauce. We won’t waste our time or money anymore and this was a huge disappointment as we had looked forward to a summer trip.
