My wife and I enjoyed the three course Christmas lunch, considering the amount of customers they had do deal with, the food was well presented, hot and delivered on time. The staff although under a great deal of pressure, were polite and nothing was too much trouble, a credit to Mill on the soar.

Stayed for two days in late November. Thought the rooms were very comfortable, with nice mattresses. Ate both nights in the restaurant, thought the prices were very good and the food and service was good, and the food came out very quickly. My gripe with the room is that they are all entered from outside - both nights had people either returning to their rooms or booking in at 12pm and 2 pm, making ridiculous amounts of noise. With no phone, I certainly wasn’t going to challenge groups of drunks shouting in the car park for 20minutes pro. Outside my room - no phone to complain to a night porter. I wouldn’t wish to stay again. I would not have written this review if I had received a private follow up review request - I booked out too early to speak to reception. Shame really.

Bed was ridiculously comfy, radiator was on immediately which was really welcoming on a cold evening. Went for food in the pub, staff were really welcoming and attentive. Only downside was there wasn't enough tea bags or coffee in the room, which was soon rectified by just popping in and asking. 10/10 would stay again.

Great place to chill eat and enjoy a drink of an evening. Food is good, prices fair and Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a couple of craft bears on tap and serve a variaty of larger and sorts. Thank you Abi for your great service. Will be back again soon. 👏🏼👍🏼🫶🏼

It was generally very poor. The room had clearly been refurbished and certainly no complaints there. However the plumbing had a lot to be desired! The water supply is a pressurised system, when ever a tap was turned on, or toilet flushed, a pump started that was quite noisy! Especially during the night when neighbours pump could be heard as well! Also when system pressure dropped the pumps started up for a short period. Worse than annoying! Hungry horse food is generally acceptable but the breakfast was really not very good. Quality of food and presentation was really not up to standard. We were unable to sit in the breakfast area with two tables occupied and all the others had not been cleared! The thermos flasks with coffee and water were not very hot in fact the water was not hot enough to make a decent cuppa. Croissant were stale and no pasteries as listed on menu. Bread, white only and clearly had been sitting there (only covered with a small fly net) for quite a while. Please note there were no tongs or other implements for handling food. The cooked food was not up to standard. Bacon dry and burnt ( like cardboard) sausages had clearly been cooked a while earlier and were of very poor quality. I don’t want to add any more other than very poor. Service very poor but not the girl’s fault as she seemed to be on her own for most of the time. Did I get a chance to air my views when checking out not. Too busy with another customer! Just lent across and took key with a quick thank you

Rooms are pleasant and look like they have been recently refurnished but soap dispensers were empty and some of the cups were not clean and left over from previous occupants. The attached pub was very disappointing. The fact that it is a chain means that corners are being cut and the staff, who are polite and approachable, are fighting a losing battle at busy times as the pub was very understaffed, with tables rarely cleared, cutlery running out, tables unwiped and a general tension behind the scenes. Food was variable depending how long it was heated up in the microwave and we returned some food and witnessed at least another 3 tables doing the same. The food is not given the quality preparation time it deserves, again presumably as everything is rushed.

We stayed here for one night over the August bank holiday. Our double room was extremely basic especially considering what we were charged for it. The bed was fine but everything else was extremely basic. The room was not dirty but considering it was ‘refurbished’ it seemed tired in places (damage on the wall, carpet stained, desk in room was battered, Wi-Fi did not work, toilet would not stop flushing, dodgy catch on the bathroom door). Breakfast was a farce. Looked like one very stretched lady doing everything. Coffee in a flask that ran out (but no one checked), lots of items on the menu missing (no brown bread, selection of pastries turned out to just be crossiants, no fresh fruit as advertised and the yogurt tasted off). The cooked breakfast was not exactly impressive (4 1/2 mini mushrooms, a small portion of beans, an egg, a not very nice sausage, a couple of rashers of bacon and actually some really nice hash browns). Nothing got replenished all the time we were there. I did mention that the Wi-Fi did not work - I was told it worked for them. Neither my wife or I could connect throughout or stay. I mentioned the missing items too .. and I was told they had run out of bread. This is a real shame and I hate writing poor reviews. It’s a nice location and ideal for visiting family who live close by. However, it was thoroughly underwhelming and not value for the money we paid.

Comfortable bed, clean room, tea and coffee available, very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend. Water heater was a bit noisy, but didn’t keep us awake. Breakfast really nice!!! Cooked to order, fresh and hot. Continental also there so had a bit of cereal too.
